but can we maybe try to find some young, interesting, hungry names?
I seriously doubt Tomlin is willing to put in the work to sync-with and develop young coaches.
Now that’s a silly critique.

Actually, I'm not sure that it's that far-fetched.

Whoever they bring in as the new OC, and whoever is creating the D, it sure would be nice if we could rely a lot more on scheme and a little less on mainly winning match-ups. It would be awesome if we had both superior talent and they were constantly put in a scheme that made them more successful. Instead we like to put our guys out there and say go beat your man and if we like the odds you'll get the ball. It's infuriating as we are always letting the opponent dictate to us it seems.

Give our guys the a double edge -- scheme and talent!

Wait, that would require more work. Sorry, our HC doesn't do that here. He says...if your gonna work extra, players are gonna be on fundamentals -- you know, that way he doesn't actually have to do anything extra!

I don’t have any idea who is going to be the best play-caller until they get in there and start calling plays. And you have to give them a few games, even a season. For all I know Canada might be awesome or he might be terrible. It’s a special skill and some guys have the gift.

It’s not a question of good character either. A guy might spend his weekends going to suburban swinger parties and randmomly yell at people on the sidelines, but turn out to be pretty good at calling plays.

One thing I know, every single one of us is great at calling plays when we use the Power of Hindsight.

First thing I'd do is make sure Ben doesnt have much of a say in who they pick. Love him as a player, but we need an OC that pulls him out of his comfort zone. Bens best years were under Haley, who by all accounts he didnt like.

And so it shall be written "Soon, we will find out.".

I have PTSD from Matt Canada at LSU.

Maybe unfair, but my reaction to his hire would be sadness.
Other than Joe Brady, who had Burrow to work with, is there any offensive coach in recent LSU memory that wouldn't give you PTSD?
Nope. But that's because until Brady, our offense had been anemic.
