Tomlin possesses 2 traits that the media loves. In fact I'd argue that's the only qualifiers for the media to like you.

1. He wins (the merits of those are debated so I don't want to go there). Fact is he wins and he's got a cool "never had a losing season" axiom. It's no different than "never had a punt blocked" quip

2. He is gregarious and accomodating to their questions. He looks like he's having fun.

Compare that to Belicheck who does 1, but not 2

Andy Reid is similar to Tomlin- he wins and he's accomodating
For those that follow hockey, MAF is the same way. He wins and he smiles a lot.
Brett Favre sent dick pics to a coworker. Media blew it off "oh he's just like a little kid out there"

Ben doesn't like the media and they give it right back to him with their stupid ass smear campaigns
