I kind of think the Rat fans may have a respectable goodbye for Ben too. Win or lose they can appreciate his level of play.
The Ravens players and coaches will show respect undoubtedly. But among team fan bases in the division I would expect the ravens fans to show the 2nd least amount of class right behind Cincinnati. Only Cleveland fans would probably display any classiness among teams in the division.
Been to some games in Cincy. Was treated much better there than I have seen AFC North team fans treated at Heinz. I apologized to a mother and daughter who were Baltimore fans because of the way trash yinzers spoke to them at Heinz.

Here is the real truth: there are assholes everywhere and they differ only in that they root for different teams. Rats fans are no worse than Steelers fans. Except for that ridiculous anthem they adopted.

Amazing to think that Ben is the only Steelers QB in our lifetimes that has left the Steelers and the city of Pittsburgh on amicable terms on both sides.

Bradshaw - harbored ill feelings for years towards the fans and coaches for how he was treated early in his career and at the end when everyone was clamoring for him to come back and play thru injury only to come back and blow out his arm first game back
Stoudt - fans pissed he sucked and then bailed on the team for the USFL
Malone - fans pissed that he amounted to nothing and we wasted most of the 80s on him instead of drafting Marino
Brister - pissed at coaches for choosing O’Donnell over him as the starter and the resulting back and forth that went on between them for years
O’Donnell - fans pissed at him for SB 30 and then bailing on the Steelers for New York the following offseason
Stewart - pissed at fans for how he was treated and suggesting he was gay. Fans likewise pissed at the multiple failures in AFC champions games
Maddox - pissed at team for drafting Ben in 04 when he thought he was the established starter and fans likewise pissed at him after his awful performances in 05 in relief nearly cost the team a playoff berth

I know I’m forgetting a few guys in the line of succession like David Woodley, Mike Tomczak and Kent Graham but I think that more or less covers the Steelers main QBs from 1970 thru the present day.

Bill Russell is the late career model.

PLAYER/COACH (meaning signal caller)

Old school since Ben is the best caller when Ben is QB
The surest way to corrupt a youth is to instruct him to hold in higher esteem those who think alike than those who think differently.

Well … that was incredibly bittersweet
Great of the fans to send him out like that
But it was really really sad to see him go

Only sports thing that moved me more was Willie Stargell goodbye
The only sports thing it's equal for me was the retiring of Dirk Nowitzke.

21 years for Dirk. 18 for Ben. Nothing like having that 1 guy to give a fan base hope season after season...
