I don't think anyone else has mentioned it: Is this just Tuitt's way of forcing his way out of PIT?

Maybe he doesn't want to be part of a rebuild? And forcing your way out of PIT is becoming a pretty big trend. Which is why they need to play hardball and put him on PUP, or wait until the last possible minute to trade/cut him.

I know people will cry over losing a potential R5 pick. Big deal. You have a history of honoring your contracts, and you need to send a strong message that you expect no less from the players. There have to be consequences to signing a big, fat deal and then quitting on the team, for whatever reason.

Isn’t his arm unusable? I’m sure he can shovel food in by the busload but it seemed that thing was hanging on by a thread.

They are probably asking him to take a pay reduction or restructure of some kind.
