And don't forget the talk of reuniting the Pouncey brothers a while back. I don't necessarily like the "Hire Employee Family Members" mentality, either, but I wouldn't exactly call it nepotism. AND. . . Every matching pair in the list you posted could disappear and the team wouldn't skip a beat. It really is a mystery to me as to why the steelers collect siblings.Scunge wrote: ↑Sat Mar 19, 2022 11:39 pm
Oh, he is still on the team COR-TEN, but wait, it gets better, we even have his twin brother Khalil on the team too!
20-0? Perfect season coming up?
This was one of my rants a couple weeks ago, this constant signing of family members. You have Carlos and Khalil Davis, TJ And Derek Watt, Terrell and Trey Edmunds, Jarron and Jamir Jones.
And this offseason you have dumbasses clamoring for us to sign Cam Heyward's little brother Connor and to draft Carnell Lake's son Qentin. Enough already, just say no to nepotism!!!!
Pick 20

Arguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon. No matter how good you are, the pigeon is going to shit on the board and strut around like it won anyway.

The Steelers went out of their way to have the three Edmunds brothers on the field against the Bills.
Didn't matter how useless Trey was as a reserve running back.
It was a chance of them making history even if it didn't help the chances of winning the game.

Not getting the Jordan Davis love at all.
I could care less about his combine, his tape? Is Meh. Decent run stopper with F all in the pass rush department. I wouldn't draft him until late in the 2nd round.

I think he's just raw as a pass rusher, not bad. And he was tasked with occupying guys, even in pass rush. You have three of the greatest blitzing LBs in CFB PLUS a top 5 EDGE guy and two other 1st round DL pass rushers.

Mmm I see a slow AF first step and his only "move' is a bull rush that isn't what I would call explosive. Plus there is some bad tape: that SEC title game v Bama? Is ugly. Guy has also had big time weight issue throughout his time with Georgia. That is always a flag.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Sun Mar 20, 2022 3:35 pmI think he's just raw as a pass rusher, not bad. Bottom line I do not see the "wow" in gym shorts athleticism translating to play on the field. Risking a top 20 pick on a NT with a bunch of question marks in a pass first league? No thanks.

You may be the only one who doesn't see it!!!
1.53 10yd at 351lbs is some ridiculous get-off.
TJ Watt's 10yd split: 1.57

In gym shorts. Watt showed that explosiveness on the field. Davis has not.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Sun Mar 20, 2022 3:48 pmYou may be the only one who doesn't see it!!!

Think about all the players through combine history that have had huge workouts and their tape hasn't reflected that. Very few have become great or even good players. Yes there is the occasional Unicorn (JPP) but most the time if the speed at the combine is not showing up on the field? It never will.

hat you say is true in some respects, but 1st off Davis has elite tape.
Secondly, explosion numbers and 10yd splits for OL/DL are pretty damn good indicators of NFL success fpr even some guys we thought od as fringe... Terrell Armstead and Spencer Brown come to mind.
What gets people in trouble are 40-times. Straightline speed is nice but that doesn't always translate, for sure.
the tape for Davis is: watch him on outside oen. He moves laterally better than anyone trying to block him and he jsut erases wide runs/cutbacks.

Clan, I understand why you could feel this way about Davis. I've watched every single one of his snaps over the last two years -- many in person. My daughter is at UGA and involved with gamedays, so I starting focusing on their team a lot.
Kirby Smart has a detailed program and system there and EVERYONE HAS TO buy in or they don't play (or stay on the team) -- no matter your talent level. I've seen Kirby asked specifically about his D Linemen as it pertains to Davis. He said...we have a ton of talent here and Davis is at the top of that, but we limit what we allow him to do because we have so many other players we need to allow to eat as well. Davis bought into it 100%. His splash play tape suffered because of it, but he was ok with that for the good of the team. It's also why Kirby lost a top EDGE guy in Jermaine Johnson to FSU -- he didn't want to just be in a rotation so he left (he didn't buy in).
Davis is a good kid and used to hard work. I think he'll only get better as he gets older. He may not be Arron Donald, but he'll be a force for any D line that has him in the middle. If he lands with a good DL coach, he has the tools to be developed into a top three-down IDL, imo.
Actually, my biggest concern for him is his demeanor -- he's more Rosey Grier than MJG.

At this point, bpa at any position except qb
10 yard splits mean something if it translates onto the field. I watched him pass rushing and the vast majority of the time his first step is slow. He also gets into way too many patty cake battles in pass rushing situations. I get he is a good maybe even a great run stuffer but I do not see anywhere near the same in his pass rush. He had 600 pass rush snaps and mustered 30 pressures. That is not good.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Sun Mar 20, 2022 4:31 pmhat you say is true in some respects, but 1st off Davis has elite tape.

I also have concerns with his weight and endurance. In some of his tape he looked absolutely spent in the 3rd quarter. That SEC championship game was a glaring example.
I agree with Clan. Jordan is a Fatlete. He has tremendous genetics that allow him to be strong and fast despite being out of shape. His weight does indeed fluctuate, and I do worry about his motor. I get that he is a run stuffing space eater. But, he had 37 solo tackles and 7 sacks....in four years...
The bottom line is that he doesn't produce on film the way you would expect with those measurables. I wouldn't spend a 1.20 on him.

Same here. I know this might not be a popular opinion here but what about Christian Watson at #20?? Dude has crazy speed, hands and a freak athlete. I would be happy if he was drafted

I would totally draft Christian Watson at 1.20, as long as Jordan Davis or any other big faller is not available.
Id rather go safety, or DL, over WR, in the first.

Willis is their guy. They will move up to get him. I don’t like him but Mike T does. Get ready!
