Week 2 Games
Re: Week 2 Games
Jets O is as shit as the Stillers. Which is bad.

Dobbs scores with 23 yards run. You can only hope you contain him.
Zelensky and Deion on 60 minutes. That makes perfect sense.

I’ve watched every QB now for multiple weeks and I don’t think there is a worse QB in the league right now than Pickett. Mayfield is slinging it. Gardner Menshew was 19/23 for 176 and a TD today pinch hitting for Richardson. Goff and Geno Smith both looked good. Pickett has a ton to prove.

49ers look beatable against the Rams. I still contend we got zero home cooking by the refs, almost the opposite.
9ers kicked one out of bounds. Everyone of their punts and kickoffs against us was a work of art.
And they are getting penalties now for shit after the whistle.
Rams tackle just eats up Bosa.
Plus injuries.
I also noticed our edge rushers, Highsmith, on the coaches film letting the TEs go out when he had him in the backfield. Why worry about the edge when you can nearly tackle the TE and prevent him from blocking the edge or going out for a pass. Stupid play by Highsmith, on an RB end around or screen type of play.
Highsmith was a jag on this play! He could have blown up the whole play if he knew the rules and role!
Look at Highsmith’s position…he could have completely demolished the play if he just takes Kittle out….and why not remove the double threat!?! Now look at him try to avoid Kittle like a fool! Now watch Highsmith get used by the fullback, and Kittle go out and convert the 4th down…that would have changed the whole complexion of the game!

I think part of that is Bosa's body is probably still sore from last week. It won't be until week 4 that his body is caught up with soft tissue pain.
Just coming in here to comment, the rams are making the niners look like a normal teamLakecrestSteeler wrote: ↑Sun Sep 17, 2023 9:05 pm49ers look beatable against the Rams. I still contend we got zero home cooking by the refs, almost the opposite.

Maybe one staff took care to game plan for week 1 since the schedule came out and the other said we do what we do.anpsteel wrote: ↑Sun Sep 17, 2023 9:13 pmJust coming in here to comment, the rams are making the niners look like a normal teamLakecrestSteeler wrote: ↑Sun Sep 17, 2023 9:05 pm49ers look beatable against the Rams. Also a division game. The teams know a lot more about one another.

Will Daboll get canned for this or can’t they find anyone as good.

I just looked at the Pickett INT to DJ on coaches film.
I wasn’t an awful throw. It was not a good throw. But that throw plus a great attack of the ball by a WR is a completion! That throw plus a mediocre attack of the ball is a knock down….but C minus plus D plus equal int.
I think am glad he is out for a couple weeks.
As I said in the game thread….AB or Ward would have caught it, George Pickens would have knocked it down and possibly caught it, but DJ slips.
I am biased, but I think I am right.
Ohhhhhh I hope some of this shite is corrected for tomorrow night!

The slipping was a problem for the home team which is odd. Not having DJ is a bad thing for the whole team. You don't have to like him or want him back but he is a talented player and helps the development of the O in general. I hope he is back before the bye but I can hold out until the bye if that is what it takes.LakecrestSteeler wrote: ↑Sun Sep 17, 2023 9:26 pmI just looked at the Pickett INT to DJ on coaches film.

Well, talent is certainly a component, but I think most of what we saw last week was a direct reflection of the poor coachingstillthere wrote: ↑Sun Sep 17, 2023 9:18 pmMaybe one staff took care to game plan for week 1 since the schedule came out and the other said we do what we do.anpsteel wrote: ↑Sun Sep 17, 2023 9:13 pmJust coming in here to comment, the rams are making the niners look like a normal teamLakecrestSteeler wrote: ↑Sun Sep 17, 2023 9:05 pm49ers look beatable against the Rams. We gained 1 yard over 28 minutes.
Turns out the 49ers D while good isn’t the love child of the 78 Steelers and 85 Bears rolled into one.
It’s not that we lost. It’s that we keep showing up for games and looking like we aren’t even from the same league as our opponent.

I think it will end up being addition thru subtraction and we will be moving on from him in the offseason.stillthere wrote: ↑Sun Sep 17, 2023 9:29 pmThe slipping was a problem for the home team which is odd. They chose wrong when they kept DJ and let JuJu go same thing with Connor.

Is Josh Dobbs better than Kenny Pickett?
Maybe?
Maybe?

Some people were trying to say that was on DJ. I was saying how bad it was. Pickett right now is absolutely the worst starting QB in the NFL right now. Hopefully he can turn it around. I am pulling for him but am not going to lie to myself about his performance last week.LakecrestSteeler wrote: ↑Sun Sep 17, 2023 9:26 pmI just looked at the Pickett INT to DJ on coaches film.

Add Sam Howell to the list of QBs who appear way better than Kenny Pickett.

First and second year QBs all showing some promise.Orangesteel wrote: ↑Sun Sep 17, 2023 10:24 pmAdd Sam Howell to the list of QBs who appear way better than Kenny Pickett.
Sam Howell looking to go 2-0 has thrown 2 TDs in the same game today.
Brock Purdy continuing to be very good.
Jordan Love 6 TDs 0 Ints
Desmond Ridder now 2-0 on the season with a QB rating in the 90s.
CJ Stroud 3 TDs, 385 yards and a QB rating over 100 all in the same game (Pickett has never done any of those)

Pickett is older than all of them too, so he just needs more time or receivers who don’t fall down when he throws passes behind them or something.Jobu wrote: ↑Sun Sep 17, 2023 10:44 pmBut he has moxie!Steelperch wrote: ↑Sun Sep 17, 2023 10:34 pmFirst and second year QBs all showing some promise.Orangesteel wrote: ↑Sun Sep 17, 2023 10:24 pmAdd Sam Howell to the list of QBs who appear way better than Kenny Pickett.

So far today, CIN and LAC fall to 0-2. Those are two teams you figured in be in the playoffs, which means if PIT falls to 0-2 the odds of coming back from that might be even worse than usual.

They could have given us all the calls and we’d still have gotten blown off the field.I still contend we got zero home cooking by the refs, almost the opposite.
This team wasn’t prepared for that game.
Evident by what they put on tape.
On both sides of the ball.
