I thought both calls on Pickens were bullshit.
He was clearly in front of Yeast...it was a GOOD block, actually.
Taunting for jawing??? Dafuq?? Used to save those for like throwing the ball at the opponent, shit like that....and especially in that spot, where it could have cost a team the game.
LOVE #14.
He just doesn't stop jawing, so I think that's why they called it.
And Johnson got called for the finger wag...he doesn't do that, he doesn't get called...and I think the officials appreciated being let off the hook for what I think they immediately realized was a bad DPI call.
You might not hate that taunting is a penalty...hell, I might even agree.
But it is, and the players will have to learn to channel their emotions in other ways.

Should have been first and ten Steelers 15 yards back from where Johnson caught the ball.
Or even worst case scenario would of been first down then enforce the penalty and it is 1st and 25.

I don’t believe he wanted to “light the fucker up”.
I believe he wanted to spring Johnson with a block, and he wasn’t coming from Yeast’s blind side. He was coming from tin front of him…Yeast simply was not looking.
My opinion on this one. I have seen clear cases of actual blind side blocks…I just don’t see that this was one of them.
Looked like a very ticky-tack call.
The ticky tack call sent the guy that Pickens shouldered to the sidelines for awhile.
You can't crack back like that anymore. As the announcer said, Pickens just needs to get in his way and that's a huge play down to the 8.
The unnecessary shoulder cost this team a shot at a TD.

Get ready to see more bullshit calls on #14.
I love Pickens' talent and passion, but jawing after every catch is getting old and dude doesn't stop. He seems to actually want a flag.
....and well, he got more than one.
Johnson's taunting penalty was even dumber, if that's possible.
When this type of thing costs us a game, you dudes will get it.

Oh look, some guy named Ben Roethlisberger had a thing or two to say about allowing the enormously talented George Pickens' behavior to get out of control.
Why? Ben has a lot of experience watching an enormously talented WR's behavior go unchecked, until the guy went full blown batshit crazy.
Interesting.

Guess I'm feeling contrarian today bc I liked what Pickens does. Feels like he's the only dude on the team who gives a shit and has that edge to him. Yea he crosses the line sometimes, but it happens when you play with emotion.
He's a youngster so he's not going to get any slack from the refs. I'd say a tenured WR doesn't get rung up for doing the exact same thing
This is the same dumb shit people said about Antonio Brown. The Steelers got a lot of good years out of that nutcase, but the guy imploded completely and derailed what should have been a slam dunk HOF career.
Talking trash to the opponent after every catch is immaturity. That's it.. It's a guy who is far too wrapped up in his own individual accomplishments than the teams Throwing temper tantrums whenever the ball isn't coming your way is selfish.
That guy who gave a shit had to be consoled by teammates because he didn't have a big day in what was one of the easiest wins of the season last year. He's a selfish prick and Tomlin is doing him no favors by coddling him.
