If all Miller/Spaeth has to do is provide a long porch it's a huge benefit.

If we can run right, counter left is even more effective.

And I would really like to see if Ben is capable of overthrowing Bryant early on.

I missed the Injury Report is Gilbert Back? And is Harrison back? If Harrison is back they wont run on us until Thomas subs in for McClendon. Thats huge. If Moats gets 1st and 2nd down snaps they will push down the field on us.

Gilbert is probable, my understanding is it's pretty certain he starts...that's mostly from coverage of how he matches up with Houston a few hours ago. My hope is Beachum can handle Ali-I think it can happen because imo KB struggles most with elite speed and that's not Ali's game. Hopefully Gilbert can block Houston well enough that TE alignment, RB chips, and the occasional keeping the RB in will be enough.

There is going to be a real temptation to be overly conservative early. I think we have to stretch the field early a couple of times if only to loosen up the defense.

The offensive gameplan revolves around Bell. Everyone knows it. If they shutdown Bell, what will ReTodd do?

Why wouldn't he have circled the game back in 2012 vs the Chiefs. The one where they scored 13 points in regulation against a 1-8 KC team?

That's true, Perch....I did like the bolded part though.

Been thinking about the last time Ben played against the Chefs and they fucked him up.

That was the Monday Night monsoon game.

Didn't KC have 8 pro bowlers that year?

Pretty sure they did. Steelers lone TD was a highlight reel one handed grab laid out vertically over a defender by the body catcher Mike Wallace

AB may double Wallace's reception total this year.

Thankfully you don't make the personnel decisions and we ended up signing the much better player.

Fuck Mike Wallace the body catcher.

What a coincidence, you've just convinced me you are a fucking dope.

McCluster never played for Haley in KC and when Archer was selected no one said he was "McCluster like" and a toy for Haley.

So you're saying archer and mccluster are similar, you give too much creedance to the elf on the shelf. Mccluster is a real nfl player

Haley did coach Mccluster (2010,2011) your comment in written form made no sense to the reader, perhaps in your mind it was your humor machine

He's underrated with his mobility. I think we're a matchup nightmare for them. DB's can cheat vs the run while taking away YPA. If our DL plays even a half decent game, they'll force Smith to beat them with his arm. Tebow style.

I think these younguns on D, especially the front 7 are starting to get it. At exactly the right time.

I remember the team playing the 9ers in I think he rookie season. He ran for his life from the pass rush. He ran pretty good, not for yards but just to keep himself from getting killed. At the time I almost felt sorry for him. He's lucky that he didn't become another David Carr.

In any case if the team gives him a lane he'll take it and move the chains. Need to stop the backs (RBs and QB) in the run game.

If Haley does engineer a masterpiece, is the Steelers offense finally for real?

A masterpiece suggests that the starters are overcoming their wildly inconsistent play (Bell and Brown excluded) and that Haley/Tomlin have overcome their wildly inconsistent personnel and playbook strategies (Archer up the middle on 3rd and short, lining up anyone besides Martavis in the RZ....).

Haha. No need for me to piss on you...you're doing a fine job by yourself.

How the "Dexter McCluster starter kit" comment evolves and is twisted into "I don't watch games" is funny.

Merry Christmas.

Exactly.

I liked Wallace. However, there were far too many red flags that led me to believe he wasn't a true #1 or a guy you can rely on after getting big money to be a true pro.

Brown knows what it means.

Wallace was bout getting paid.

Does anyone think Wallace would have showed up for an ice cold playoff game??

I don't.

Brown will though.

Team was real smart with who they have that money do.

And we appear to be better off now having replaced Wallace speed with Bryant.

The excelleration in the 94 yarder was damn impressive.

Wallace might win a race. I'm sure sure he plays faster. Bryant is bigger and stronger.

I'm just glad we have some weapons for Ben to work with.

I meant to say I'm sure Bryant plays faster. Wallace may be faster in straight line.

I dunno. Nor care.

Bryant will be the much better WR.

Wallace needed Ben more than Ben needed Wallace.

I don't know, either. Wallace had freakish acceleration, but some of these big guys might have a bit higher top-end once they get going. Wallace ran a 4.33, while Bryant had a 4.42. Decent bet that Bryant is as fast, perhaps even faster, over the final 30.

On that TD last week, Ben thought he overthrew Bryant...but Bryant actually slowed a hair and still almost overran it.

Bryant definitely excites me a lot more as a complete receiver - big, strong guy that can do it all.

The body control, plus hand grabbing a back shoulder throw (edit) Edsa has as his avatar, should tell you all you need to know about a 6' 4" rookie.

You just dont see that with guys that size. He's a freak. And we got him in the 4th.

A guy like that doesn't have a ceiling. Remember. ..he's still raw.

P.S. B2B, I think Haley has those pieces I talked about. ;)
