While analysts have fanned over Rogers for years, he's a front runner with only 23 Fourth Quarter comebacks in 243 games vs Ben's 41in 249 games.
Rogers simply doesn't have the "comeback gene" that is needed when playing Tomlin's low scoring, play not to lose, style. Heck, even Kenny Pickett had to orchestrate multiple comebacks in this system - KP has 6 comebacks in just 30 games.
Its going to be interesting to see how things play out. Even late in his career, Ben bailed out Tomlin Ball, often by going rogue to come from behind and win.
Its hard to imagine Tonlin changing and allowing the Steelers to score enough to regularly have them ahead late in the game so for the team to win, AR is going to need to put together more than a few comebacks.

While everything you say is correct, we also need to remember that Aaron Rodgers is far more of a loose cannon than Ben Roethlisberger ever has been or would be. Rodgers will not simply be a good soldier, especially in his final NFL season.Stillerz Bar wrote: ↑Tue Jul 29, 2025 12:21 pmWhile analysts have fanned over Rogers for years, he's a front runner with only 23 Fourth Quarter comebacks in 243 games vs Ben's 41in 249 games.

No matter the idiocy Ben had to deal with, he never complained (outside of some passive aggressive comments.) Aaron Rodgers WILL complain if he believes the Steelers offensive game plans are overly conservative or stupid. Aaron Rodgers will complain loudly to Pat McAfee and Coach Cool Shades will look like an idiot.
We all need to remember that while Rodgers is at the end of the line, he's famous for being a dick and getting coaches fired. Let's hope he's successful in that regard, one more time.

Uh, Milledgeville and the other rape charge and the motorcycle accident. Rodgers simply has different opinions than most people and some turned out to be correct during COVID. But if you subtract those three incidents and Willie Parker's long runs, Ben is Roger Staubach.

You're talking about off the field incidents with Roethlisberger (who, after Milledgeville, was reportedly given an edict to shape up or ship out by the Rooneys.....Ben shaped the fuck up and never did a single thing wrong off the field ever again.) I'm talking about being outspoken about football issues.Dan Smith--BYU wrote: ↑Tue Jul 29, 2025 5:42 pmUh, Milledgeville and the other rape charge and the motorcycle accident. Rodgers, again, has been the reason 2 coaches were fired. Ben ain't that guy. Ben didn't bitch when he wasn't even allowed to call fucking audibles after he was a 2 time Super Bowl winning QB.
Rodgers would go apeshit if he wasn't allowed to be in total control of the offense. This being his final NFL season ramps that up to 11.

That's the optimistic take. An alternate take is Rodgers is Tomlin's buddy, and he just wants to play and doesn't give a shit about much of anything else (certainly not a playoff run or he wouldn't have come to PIT).
I suppose as long as he's having fun. He ain't gonna have no fun.

Well it was only 1 year ago Aaron Rodgers got his head coach fired..Kodiak wrote: ↑Tue Jul 29, 2025 8:28 pmThat's the optimistic take. Wasn’t that coach supposed to be Rodgers’ buddy too? I’m not saying Rodgers could get Mike Tomlin fired, but if shit goes south and we all know that’s a possibility, Rodgers has the platform to be very vocal about his unhappiness with what‘s happening.
Late in Ben’s career he didn’t have a national platform to go off on his coach or even bitch about his OC, the offense in general, etc. Rodgers has that platform and I wouldn’t be in the least bit surprised if he uses it.

Aarp Rodgers probably thinks he is going to enjoy playing for Coach T.
That a run first approach will keep him healthy.
In reality the archaic offense will have too many 3rd & long with lots of big hits.

That's the dream. I'm just afraid Rodgers views this season as more of a "smell the roses and say goodbye" tour.
Rodgers is apparently mentoring Howard, which is awesome. It also is a pretty clear indicator this is his last year (if we needed one). I just don't think the same fire is there that he had when he got coaches fired in GB and NY.
That’s the gloomy path, for surebeerbrother wrote: ↑Tue Jul 29, 2025 8:56 pmAarp Rodgers probably thinks he is going to enjoy playing for Coach T.

Although that we assume it happens because Tomlin keeps running his stupid shit, so maybe that would get Tomlin fired
