I really don't give a fuck what Tomlin says in his pressers, only what he's doing in game prep and then on the sideline on Sunday.

Funny though....Mitchell's unprofessional? What about The Fat Fuck Rex Ryan and his Fuck You toward the official at game's end....and his bullshit on the Vick penalty.

He's blessed, and I say this respectfully, with an exceedingly well-developed line of bullshit. It's his gift.

That assessment isn't inconsistent at all with my not giving a fuck what the Wordsmiff says in his pressers.

And yeah...I probably know less than the percentage you cite insofar as the goings on in game prep and sideline performance. I DO know though, that the result, even in some very big wins, is a level of dumbfuckedness that should concern Steeler fans worldwide.

Like the coaches preach, I take it one game at a time. I think we'll beat the Tits and be 7-4. 7-4 is a pretty good record.

Amen. This team has as much or more potential to make a run as any in the Tomlin era.

Personally I don't think it's unprofessional in a 1-score game. I've seen a few QB's be a bit lackadaisical there, taking a few slow steps back before taking a knee. In those cases, he IS susceptible to fumbling on a well-timed leap.

If you want to say it's poor sportmanship if the QB takes a quick knee, then ok. But at the same time you don't have the luxury of waiting a play or two to do that.

Tomlin calls that a great play if he forces the fumble - and Mitchell almost did. The game isn't over. If you don't like it, then put the QB in shotgun or run a play. No problem with Mitchell trying to make a play until the clock is 0:00.

I'm glad Mitchell was trying to do something to win. Shit, they should have had Dri Archer at nose tackle to crawl under the center's legs and try to get the ball. I mean, seriously, thank you Mike Mitchell for actually giving a shit and trying to get a win, instead of standing there with a thumb up the ass while there is 1:18 left on the clock, only a touchdown behind, and watching the other team take a "victory" formation...
Tomlin should have defended Mitchell's actions. Who cares if Rex Ryan thinks it's bush league, he's going to be coaching there soon enough.

I thought the same thing too about this team. Then the Jets happened. Just like the Bucs happened. Won't be surprised if the Tits win on Monday night.

One could make an argument that the Steelers have lost to teams like Oakland and Tennessee over the past couple of years because they weren't that good, and they have lost to teams like them this year because they are a young team that is still learning to play when there's adversity.

One thing that was noted in the the podcast by lifelong is that while the "lows" (losses to the Jets) are still there, the "highs" (wins over the Colts, Ravens, and Texans) are higher than they've ever been since the loss to Tebow, and that the Steelers ARE on the rise.

But we are so impatient because the window on Ben's career is closing that we can't wait for these young but talented players to get over their inconsistency.

And I say this as someone who is not afraid to criticize Mike Tomlin...because it isn't an "either or" "black and white" thing...and why some people on these boards continue to try and make them so is beyond me.

The dude is nothing more than JAG.

Carolina's front seven made him look like a decent player, which we have found out, Mitchell is the same player for us, as he was with the Raiders.

Another fucking waste.

The only thing he has brought so far that Will Allen hasn't is that he's angry at gatorade cups and the like.

I'd say Mitchell's got great intangibles, but so far he's only shown angibles.

I don't like that he addressed it publicly. Yes, he threw his player under the bus - according to the article in the gazette. Should have just said that he liked Michtell's initiative and moved on.

On the play itself? I never understood the V formation much unless it's completely impossible to either tie or take the lead when there is more than say, 1:40 on the clock. It's the team taking the victory formation saying you must give up, because they've decided that you can't win. I know it's been around forever, but teams get insulted when the opposing defense doesn't just give up. 50 seconds down 10? 1:50 down 20? Fine.

At least he tried to do something and is emotionally invested.

Did anybody ask Sexy Rexy about Jason Babin's "bush league" takedown of Ben or the Jets' other personal foul for hitting Ben late?

If Bill Parcells called a player "Totally Unprofessional" during the weekly presser, that player would have been fucking relieved. You should have heard him piss all over James Farrior...and Phil Simms...AFTER Simms won a SB going 22 for 25.

Of all the things to fucking worry about, this ain't one of them.

New York Jets coach Rex Ryan has been fined $100,000 for his postgame use of profanity that was picked up on video last Sunday. http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nf ... topstories

@RichCimini
Other Jets' fines: Jason Babin fined $16,537 for unnecessary roughness and Michael Vick fined $8,268 for unsportsmanlike conduct. https://twitter.com/RichCimini/status/5 ... 2017098752

Christ the NFL is preposterous.
It's a parody of itself anymore
The fines and weekly announcements of fines
100k for gruff language
10k for a moments celebration or pissiness
Weekly tabloids and fantasy bullshit - that is Rogers NFL

It has become truly tedious

How long can they capitalize on our love of Noll and Cowher and lambert and Bradshaw and Franco and rocky and Lloyd and Greene and and ward and Ben ..... They have just about worn me out and emptied my pockets. Just such a silly game anymore.

Am I the only one who remembers when Ryan's Jets did the exact same thing in the 2010 AFCCG?

Bigger game, to be sure, but just as bush.
