 YOu're the only guy in America that thinks that would have been the smarter baseball move. you'd trade a runner on 3rd no outs for a runner on 3rd two outs and the pitcher up to bat. I give up.

I really don't give a shit if I am the only guy in the World that thinks that. They would have been better letting that pitcher bat than to send a runner in that situation and guess what - I was right.

J.A. Happ has .086 career batting average. Do you think Heyward can throw a strike from 240 feet 90 times out of 100? I don't. That is why you send him. The chances are better that Heyward sails one off line than they are of Happ getting that run home.

I'm saying if you get lucky by making the wrong call, its just that, luck. 19 out of 20 times Happ is making an out.

Marte was dead to rights if they send him home and they never even get a batter to 3rd base. Anyway. . Lets go Bucs. Happ cruising.

And what is the chance of Marte scoring on that double at full speed? I have seen that 3B coach send more guys in riskier situations than that situation.

Excellent if the outfielder isn't able to cut that ball off. But he did.

We are going to disagree - so I am done with the discussion. Also - there should be a salary cap in MLB.

Maybe 50/50. Major league teams cash in runners from 3rd with no outs almost 90% of the time.

I take 50/50 in a big game like this in the first few innings in a game like this with nothing to lose. We must sweep or there is a better than 50/50 chance that we get knocked out in the WC game.

You'd take a 50% chance over a 90% chance?????

Peralta scares me more than any other hitter the Cardinals have.

I would rather have Marte try to score from 1B on a double than to send him on a short fly ball because the Pitcher is up next - panic, pussy move. If you want to "push the envelope" send Marte on the double.

The second decision has nothing to do with the first. They are completely independent. The Pirates played the percentages correctly both times.

Lets see how playing the percentages works out for them in this game - hopefully it doesn't cost them.

Did you yell at the TV when Scobee missed those field goals that the Steelers should have gone for it on 4th down instead?

Absolutely shocking that Lance Lynn has thrown 5 Shut Out innings in this game - terrible.

Base running. Man.
