The refs were blowing the whistle INSANELY early last night.

In addition to the spots SP mentioned, we also had a sack of Rivers were the pocket collapsed around him and they blew the whistle before any of our guys even looked like they touched Rivers (he was ultimately grabbed and pulled down immediately after the whistle, so it's probably a mute point, but still. Had they done the same thing to Ben with his escapability, I would have been furious).

I don't think it would have happened. I don't think it has. The refs adjust to the QB to some degree. They know Ben is:
1) Not a pussy
2) Not a flag begger
3) Hard to bring down
4) Has escapability and loves to extend plays

So they let him play a bit longer. As much as we bitch about him not getting flags for stuff that regularly gets called quick for Brady or Paid-a-ton, they give Ben leeway to work his magic since he has in the past and will continue to attempt to.
