It made entirely too much sense to cut Moncrief AND Switzer and claim Gordon, bring up the RB/RS. Then you’d have a respectable WR situation (especially if one of your top 2 goes down) and we could upgrade the returner position.

Josh Gordon reacts to Seahawks claiming him off waivers in Instagram post

Josh Gordon was claimed off waivers on Friday, and the ex-Patriots wide receiver seems thrilled with the result.
Gordon was picked up by the Seattle Seahawks, who were 28th on the waiver priority list. The 28-year-old wide receiver is pretty pumped to be heading out west, according to his Instagram story posted shortly after the news leaked.
"Looove This! #gohawks," Gordon wrote.

The wide receiver's agent David Canter told ProFootballTalk that nine different teams showed interest in working out Gordon, though he would not reveal any of their names. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/josh-gordo ... 25964.html
Colbert would never make that move because Tomlin has proven he can't handle guys like that. Empty Shades is not a player's coach, he's a buddy. And the "buddy-style" is a wholly shitty management technique. It's literally managing by not-managing. People who keep defending that approach are entirely clueless.
Again, enabling and ignoring guys like that is not being a leader. Waiting until a guy becomes too big of a problem to handle is not how you manage ego's and personalities.

I thought that was Dionte Johnson he made that claim about. Which by the way has been doing so with little fanfare.
Fortunately DJ is developing as expected.Steelafan77 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 03, 2019 5:48 pmI thought that was Dionte Johnson he made that claim about. Which by the way has been doing so with little fanfare.
Unfortunately, I thought Washington/Moncrief would push each other to be that 3rd receiver. Washington has been a huge disappointment, and obviously Moncrief got cut. I thought we'd get at least 1500 yards out of those two, but we might be lucky to get 500.

Washington has disappointed. Even with his college QB is really disconcerting. Perhaps there's an underlying issue we fans know nothing about? I wish Washington would use this game today to break out and not look back the rest of the season....

Had long reception, held on to contested catch with DB on his back, and pulled in one thrown well behind him. Hope trend continues.

Washington balled today. Hopefully he's turned the corner.
Today is what I hoped for from him EVERY WEEK.

Also, I think maybe JuJu needs to start having a little less fun playing and be a little more business like.
Love his attitude and team-first approach, but I hope he's pissed about what he's contributing.

Moncrief is a good receiver but receivers who begin the year with a dislocated finger shouldn't be on the field.swissvale72 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 03, 2019 5:18 pmBut KC....isn't Moncrief the guy you said was going to make us forget AB???

I mean....how dumb is it to play a WR who is going to scream in pain every time a football hits his hands?
It isn't exactly rocket science.
You could see Moncrief was finally healthy because he made the best catch in the Duck Hodges/Chargers game, diving out of bounds to make a catch while keeping his feet in.
He likely could have helped us a lot going forward, but you can't risk losing out on a third rounder so he had to go.
Don't be surprised if Moncrief catches on with a contender and makes a very positive contribution. The guy is only 26 years old.
....and again, MC Hammer Jr wasn't going to help ANY TEAM this year.
I think you're going to have understand that MC Hammer Jr's 2019 contribution is pretty much the same as Donte Moncrief's.
Both players were 100% BUSTS.

As reported earlier today, as we have fake threads floating about here!!
DONTE MONCRIEF
WR, CAROLINA PANTHERS
Panthers claimed WR Donte Moncrief off waivers from the Steelers.
Moncrief's drop-filled tenure with the Steelers came to an end after Week 8. He'll now serve as the Panthers' No. 4 (at best) WR behind D.J. Moore, Curtis Samuel and Jarius Wright. Moncrief remains well off the fantasy radar.

Moncrief was dropping passes at least partially because he dislocated a finger. He’s not great, but he’s probably a lot better than he showed with the Steelers.

I believe that was the case with Moncrief. Unfortunately for him his dislocated finger propelled him towards the exit instead of mediocrity where his career has been the entire time while in the NFL. Definitely not worthy of forfeiting a potential 3rd RND comp pick IMHO. Good job cutting bait. Moving on.
