"Saving everybody" isn't important.
Saving a player without whom the offense is fucked, and who has been injured and unavailable for post-season two years in a row, to obvious effect, is.
And sure Bell can get hurt on any play...all the more reason NOT to have him in when it's not necessary. He can't get hurt if he's not in the game (well he can, but there's only so much you can control).
Imagine in 2008 if we had had to play the following week in the wildcard round? The only reason Ben getting injured in that meaningless game against Cleveland was because the Steelers had a week off for him to recover. So why was he in a game where it didn't matter if the Steelers won or not?
So it's not complaining just to complain. We KNOW what this offense looks like when Ben or Bell isn't in the game. So taking unnecessary risks is stupid.
