After the latest brouhas nationally on the weekend, it's clear that if we continue bringing in even hints of politics, this site can easily return to the chaos of the old site. I know that I did it, too, a few days ago but let this site be free of the turmoil. There is enough to argue about football-wise & if you are bothered & want to stand up for your political beliefs - go march for or against as is your right - I did last week & I won't bring it here again.
I did my part to inject a little politics and won't do it again, but I do feel like while some things have their roots in politics, they eventually transcend it.
So for example, "alternative facts" is, for better or worse, firmly entrenched in the American lexicon, and invoking it is not necessarily making a political statement. I know Trump supporters who yet cringed when Kellyanne Conway used that phrase.
So I don't think it's a political statement anymore than "fake news" would be.
Or Dan Smith's old sigpic of Hillary catching Bill being a horndog over Ivanka.
I think people shouldn't be sensitive over stuff that has become memes, but if that's what the mods rule...I'll abide by it.
