I haven't seen Joshua Dobbs take one snap, and I'll bet dollars to donuts he's the starter before the handoff monkey if Ben retires.
Still going to need a LOT of help.
I don't believe we've seen the best of Landry Jones. Sometimes, a backup QB looks (performs) like the starter, but sometimes the backup and the starter have very little in common. Roger Staubach - Danny White were similar to me. Montana - Young were similar (no, not carbon copies), but the 2 pairings had skills in common that allowed a decent transition from one QB to the other. Landry and Ben don't appear to have anything in common. Things they do have in common: the need for a game-plan catered to their strengths, good weapons who catch the ball when it's in reach, and a defense that doesn't constantly put the game in their hands. Dobbs seems to have more traits in common with Ben like mobility and strength in the pocket or on the move. As it stands right now, the Steelers have AB, Bryant, & everyone else. Whoever is behind center has a chance to succeed.
I'm just glad Martavis is back, hoping he can hang on. He will make success a little easier for everyone in the WR rotation. The odds are against him, but things that I have heard about him lately make me hopeful for him. Go Steelers!
