That explains why they are struggling to beat one of the worst teams in baseball.

I think it’s more that they have surrendered 16 runs in 2 games to one of the worst-hitting teams in baseball.

But they gutted it out for a much-needed win tonight!

Putting aside our collective disdain for the Pirates front office for a minute, what do you think they should do?

That reall y is a tough question/decision. You have to ask yourself if you really believe they can continue they’re current play and actually contend. I don’t...I don’t think the pitching is good enough.

I don't believe the Bucs will pick up anyone. the recent wins may eliminate the dump, not wanting to further anger the base

Dickerson’s been nursing a hamstring injury since Monday...Marte got pluked on the hand Tuesday...

...and now Josh Bell has left with side discomfort.

We aimply cannot have nice things.

Marte was on deck when Freese stroked the game winner yesterday.
Dickerson has a hammy. He could be out for a while, depending on how severe.

Happ and Soria...two 2015 trade deadline acquisitions...would have been two I would have liked to have gotten this year as well.

Soria gets $10 M next year, so that’s too rich for Nutting I guess.

Happ is a rental...he’s UFA for 2019.

Neither cost much by way of prospects given up.

I’m ok with the rotation as is. They will never add a top flight starting pitcher. Knowing that I’d prefer they not address the rotation. If they don’t add a decent reliever though, that would be utter bullshit. This team would be 3 or 4 games better if the bulllpen wasn’t so putrid. The lineup is ok, the rotation is ok, if they bolster the bullpen they would have a fighting chance at stealing the wildcard. Kyle Barraclough and Brad Ziegler are both available from the Marlins. Either of them would improve this bullpen.

This is reasonable. I was stating of all the players that have been moved, Happ and Soria would have been the two I would have liked to have gotten.

Soria especially because the Brewers got him, and we would have strengthened ourselves while not letting them do so. But the $10 M for next year probably scared Nutting away.

Be ready for the bullshit, though...because I can almost guarantee we’re not adding a thing.

Bell to 10 day DL...Osuna called up.

Marte is back tonight, but still no Corey Dickerson.

I was simply talking about the bullshit of not adding anybody when we’re three games out of a wuld-card slot, but I’m sure Neal will have some such bullshit statement ready.

Will be even more bullshit than usual given how cheap the trades have been.

Oh and BTW...Dickerson to 10 day DL retroactive to the 25th...Meadows up.

So essentially two of our best hitters are out for the Cubs’ and Cardinals’ series.

Yay.

I honestly don’t know what blocking the plate is anymore.

Mesoraco had the whole damn thing walled off...no call.

And we seem to almost never have success with run on contact plays.

Have no idea why.

DeGrom cruising.

Williams gutting it out to match him.

Still 0-0.

Two huge insurance runs here in the 7th!

The Pirates’ 8 hits tonight? Most against DeGrom all season.

35,900 in the ballpark...Pirates’ winning is sucking us in and making us forget Nutting is a fucking dick.
