It was a give-up call for field positions. Called specifically to avoid the sack/turnover.

I just don’t like the idea of a 3rd down conversion being dependent on pregnant Ramon Foster coming out and blocking for the fastest guy on our offense.

How in the hell does Fitchner expect that play to work, or at least the timing of it??
