Wow- some blogger named Joe Kuzma blamed Connor too.

That changes EVERYTHING.

What a predictable response!! Some nobody named Jeemie refuses to acknowledge the obvious, that Steelers win that game had they simply possessed the ball without incident with less than 8 minutes left, up two scores....and then proceeds to diss on a writer that looks at the situation realistically.

I realize I've become the pariah of this esteemed website by not sharing the unbridled and, in my opinion obviously, undeserved enthusiasm about this coming season....but anyone that doesn't believe Steelers beat Cleveland if not for the Connor fumble, is simply a football dumbfuck. Sorry Jeems....it's true.

So, JC fumbles the ball with 8 minutes remaining in the game and that is the definable moment? With 8 minutes remaining and the Steelers up by 14, you know what Tomlin does right? He takes the air out of the ball and goes run heavy. He is totally fine running the ball 3 times and punting, right? What if we didn't make a 1st down, then punted the ball. With our specials teams half the time, who's to say the Browns don't get a really good return off Berry's shank kick and are at the 10 yard line with 6 minutes left. Then scores on the next play. Now they have all the momentum, Tomlin continues to be a dumbfuck and we hand the ball right back to them after 3 runs and a puff of dust! As you can see, the rest of the 8 minute game could have unfolded in a whole host of ways, so to blame that loss on JC's fumble with that much time left in the game is just plain asinine. JC's fumbles could have cost them thie Browns game, but there is no way to tell what would have transpired in those final 8 minutes, even if he hadn't. Cleveland's offence was shitting all over our D in the final 8 mintues.

The Connor fumble gifted the Browns 7 points, putting them back in the game.

I know you know that Steelers win had that not happened.

Interesting....

They could "overcome" Ben's 5 FUCKING PICKS ( ) but Conner's one fumble? THAT was the killer.

You cannot make silly shit like this up.

Yeah, because God knows it wouldn't be possible for Ben to throw a SIXTH PICK, right?

5 was his limit that day.

Refusing to back it up my ass. WHY should I agree to leave this website if Steelers win 10 games or more...which certainly COULD happen (though I don't think they will), just 'cause some fuckin' idiot like you tells me i should????

So if it's plausible enough to make you scared of taking the bet, which you obviously are, then it's obviously not even remotely "delusional" for someone to think that the steelers could be better this year.

Which means the all of the threads you've hijacked and insults you've spewed has been completely pointless.

I don't care if you take the bet as long as you admit that thinking the Steelers could potentially be better next year without Antonio Brown is a reasonable position.

And by not taking the bet, that's exactly what you're doing. The bet scares you because you know it could happen because it IS a reasonable position. Otherwise you wouldn't be scared of it.

And yet, here you are, trashing every person who says exactly that could happen.

Which means you're a load of hot air with absolutely no substance. And THAT is why you're a pariah through all of this.

You never did square that circle, though.

But I’ll follow that advice now. Unless you do attempt to square it, I won’t bother responding. It’s possible that you fail to understand the deficiency of your position that I pointed out. Also likely is that you don’t care to and just want to continue to pound your point without reflection. If so, have at it! I cede the field!

So, there is an interesting debate here which is that: (I) the Steelers were not a 10 win team last year, (II) the Steelers lost talent, therefore (III) the Steelers will likely not be a 10 win team this year.

The problem with that logic is that the Steelers were incredibly unlucky to not be an 11-win team last year. The officiating in the Chargers / Saints game e.g., was truly horrific (it is funny that the Saints were on the other end of it a few games later). They also had many really unlucky bounds (e.g., Grimble in Denver) and really boneheaded coaching (Saints game, Raiders game). Steelers are a prime candidate for positive regression to the mean -- especially if the Dullard in chief wises up.

Seems to me if you gentleman want to make a proper bet, the obvious choice is an AB Raiders jersey... :D

I guess I'd count that in the unlucky "bounds" (autocorrect bounces). An average kicking game was at least worth an extra game.

Also the fact that they've added talent as well as lost AB and Bell. Also the fact they no longer need to deal with the distractions of AB and Bell. It's not a simple equation as Swiss keeps trying to make it.

Here's the answer, Lipps.

You're not only a pussy, who won't take a risk....but also a fuckin' idiot, who has some expectation that one guy will enter into a bet where he has no chance of winning anything.

What type of bet are we talking? A cash bet? A jersey bet? An avatar bet?

What are the particulars? The Steelers are better than the Raiders this upcoming season? The Steelers are better than they were in 2018?

What are we talking, because I want in.

I told Swiss that since he’s so sure the Steelers will be worse without AB, then back it up by agreeing to leave the site for a year if they’re not.

Pussy won’t do it.

Which tells me he’s not so sure about that prediction.

Of course you want in, KC!! You're not averse to a BET.

But Lipps, a pathetic combo of pussy and idiot, wants to make a bet where he's not putting up anything. He's like..."Heads I Win, Tails I don't lose."

Swiss has defined the Steelers being a better team this year as winning 10 games in the regular season and making the playoffs. Lipps wants Swiss to agree to leave the site forever if the Steelers achieve this. I think that's a bit much. Surely an avatar bet would suffice.

A bet isn’t really a bet if both parties don’t have something to lose.

No matter how strong ones opinion might be, said person has no reason to bet if their opponent is not also risking loss.

Now their opinion may be completely wrong, but that doesn’t mater if their opponent isn’t also willing to risk something.

Equal or close to equal loss needs to be on the table for a bet to be interesting.

Can’t be if you lose then suffer the loss but if you win all you get to is an “I told you so”...

Nobody should leave the site.

Mainly because nobody will actually leave it, so that type of bet is pretty silly.

Make it a jersey bet (loser buys the winner a jersey of their choice. Nothing ridiculous, maybe put a $150 cap on it or something).

Or for folks who don't want to do a straight cash bet, or a nice jersey bet, just do an avatar bet.

It's really easy.
