Well that's the thing : who can they swap out?

Zar is injured. Sure you can try ruh for Hunwick

But I doubt Simon or sprong will be recalled

Hated sending Cole out... Would've given them a 3rd round pick to ensure he stays

Sully could at least start with mixing the lines. Get rust off of sids line...

I’m just seeing poor effort. Guys that have been kicking ass for 2 months aren’t skating. Turning the puck over against teams like BOS and NJ you will lose, no doubt about it.

If anyone wants to know what size show Sullivan wears, feel free to check the asses of every guy who played tonight.

Sullivan has to take a portion of the blame for the last few CONTESTS though . He continues to dress a suboptimal lineup. He refuses to play combinations that have been proven and insists on shoehorning combos that DON'T.

He's gonna have to swallow his pride and go away from his pets at some point

Does my suggestion about working Broussard in to the lineup by starting with the 4th line seem so crazy now? Just let everything else keep going and let Broussard get his feet wet with the Pens way of doing things. Instead everything got all mixed up and the mojo was lost.

The defense sucks. Shipping Cole out was a huge mistake. I was honestly hoping they would make no trades this year. The team was rolling and I liked where they were at. They lost a lot of toughness with Cole and Reaves leaving. Hell, they stick handle like a high school team, maybe not even as good. They seem to have lost their legs as well.

in addition to missing Cole and Reaves, why did we break up the Hagelin - Malkin - Rust line?

Those guys were scoring 50 goals a game, and we break them up?

Fucking retarded

Didn't watch game, but seeing score, losing 3 in a row, we might be in trouble.

That was what I was thinking about during the game.
You almost have to call up some new blood from WBS and give it a try.

I don't think you can do worse than Hunwick at this point.
Knuckle is so limited and I have to believe that Simon is better at this point. When ZAR comes back he better be in there ahead of the shot blocker.

I didn't blame Sully for the early season start but he has his warts as well.

In other news, we need a new game-day thread starter.

You kicked ass for a long while and singlehandedly pulled this season from the doldrums. We thank you for your service.

Because prior to Horny going out it was him at RW, and that line was clicking. Seemed like we finally found a home for Horny bc Sid hates playing with him.

That line's success was more about Hags/Geno doing great work together regardless who was on the RW. But I could see Sully's reasoning:

Line 1: Can't play Horny w/ Sid
Line 3: I want Kessel carrying that line

So by default he put him on line 2 with Geno. Well ok, but the domino was Rust going with Sid where they blow ass together

I think we're gonna see Geno and Kessel back together (which is fine)

So that means
Sheary - Brassard - Horny

Which is fine too, but I think Rust and Geno work best.

I've always loved the Geno/Kessel combo....those fuckers always yelling at each other in between scoring goals.

They just recalled Simon so hopefully he is in the lineup instead of one of the stiffs at the fourth line wing.

I agree with these lines. Bring Sprong up! Put him with the captain. Tell him sink or swim. If he sinks, he's gonna be shipped out!

Sheary: 22 points in 62 games. 51.7 corsi, -3, OPS
Sprong: 3 points in 8 games. 63.2 corsi, +2,

I'm still trying to figure out why Sprong was sent down.

Except they have done that now-what 3 or 4 times?

I think it is simple, Sully doesn't trust him.

Sullivan, on occasion will bench a player mid game and usually it is for a part of the period. Last time Sprong felt the ire of Sullivan was on the West coast trip where Sprong was benched the entire third period then promptly sent down to WBS when they got home.
They keep calling up Simon and ZAR has stuck around for a good while.

I wish they would give him a longer chance but the coaching staff and maybe Rutherford don't think that highly of him or his game all around.

They play the same freaking system at WBS, where is their best offensive player, right? This makes no sense. I think it more likely that Sully is in love with Knuckle, Rowney, Simon, Sheary. I mention Sheary specifically because it sure looks like his play has gone stale. I can make an argument that he’s less valuable than even Kuhnackl or Rowney right now.

Whatever. I’m done hoping for Sprong.
