Islanders are going to be a tough nut to crack.

Blah.

We’ve fallen into the same rut we were in earlier in the season where we leaving up fast breaks WAY too often either from bad changes, bad pinches, or bad rotations.

Need to be better disciplined in game 2.

Pens looked extremely slow and lazy for too many stretches of that game. I thought the ice was terrible which doesn't suit a more skilled team. Really need to come out fast on Friday and take game 2.

Islanders are way faster team. We need to win this series on puck possession and playing sound hockey.

And I think we need McCann back on the top line. Oh and y’all might be ok to something with JJ over Maatta because Maatta does not look right.

He had a bad game, although you’d be hard pressed to find a d-man that didn’t.

I suspect we’re going to see a lot of game-by-game rotation with who is sitting.

As much as I’ve liked Pettersson this season, he got pushed around a lot tonight, too. I’m not eliminating the possibility he spends some a game or two wearing a suit.

When I say the Pens have to come out fast, I mean they need to get that first goal and take the crowd out of it. Not referring to their speed in that case.

Maata had his bad moments(what blueliner didn't last night) but I don't why nearly everyone on social media(outside of SF) is pinning this loss on him. Dumo was horrid last night. Letang took too many chances as well and Pettersson was out of it.

I agree that the Pens have to come out and establish their game tomorrow night. I'm sure neither coach wants to see another track meet.
