Yes Cor-Ten. Most people would agree with ole Rashard that the NFL is a modern day slave plantation.

There is a HUGE difference between thinking differently than someone else and saying something not only completely untrue but also just asinine.

Ya, slaves could hop over to another plantation to the highest bidder for their “services” or simply just retire when they wanted to.

Or choose to you know, not be a slave altogether.

Mandy’s comments were dumb. Don’t make yourself also dumb by agreeing with him in an attempt to disagree with me.

He has his perspective, which is different than yours. He has lived his entire life as a black man. Now a white man(you) is telling him how to think/ how to perceive his history. And on top of that, you name call and insult him. I personally don't necessarily agree with him, but I'm not calling him a stupid prick. I may go as far as suggesting he's misinformed, or reactionary.

You always seem to think you're perspective is accurate, whereas others are always off. Life isn't like that. And on top of that, you generalize and throw me into the same pile - just to elevate yourself.

/eye roll.

His perspective is nothing but nonsense.

He obviously knows nothing of history or is just a race baiting numbskull to actually liken a highly paid and FREE profession to freaking slavery.

Maybe if he was referring to forced labor in third world countries he’d have a point.

You are actually doubling down and defending his “perspective”. So funny. It wasn’t a perspective. It wasn’t something NC to maybe agree with. It was a stupid ass comment from a man who is educated enough (and privileged enough) to know better.

His point was rubbish regardless of color.

Yes, tell us again how choosing to be (or not be) a professional athlete is like slavery...

I suppose boss Rooney gave him 30 lashes to sign that rookie deal.

You have reading comprehension issues. I suggest you re-read my post to determine if I agree with him. But I understand you only understand everything in the simplest of terms, so it doesn't surprise me you think he's a stupid prick.

Happy new year.

Well, ummmm, there is nothing accurate about his comment. So seems my perspective is accurate while his was and is clearly off.

You cannot draw any parallel between the two.

He wasn’t talking about diamond mines in Africa or an asian sweat shop factory.

He was talking about the NFL. 100% free will to participate or not. Never forced to do so in any way.

I’m not arguing a simple difference in perspective. I’m tearing apart an idiotic statement on his part.

You are allowing your disdain for me lead you to defend a comment that has no defense.

Kittle could have been on any other NFL roster. Everyone missed on the player.
But were all those other teams going into the draft with stone footed Jesse James and soon to be out of the league Xavier Grimble as their TEs and still decided to ignore the position in favor of QB depth?

Sure a lot of teams missed on Kittle.

Our brainiacs didn’t even bother addressing the position though and then ended up having to trade away another pick to bring McDonald in.

Who by the way needs to also be replaced.

See the flaws in their thought process?

I’ve said before that I wouldn’t be barking up this tree if they simply chose another TE they missed on. That shit happens in the draft.

They didn’t even try. Burned draft capital on a clipboard holder instead.

Decisions such as that is in part why we lack talent on this roster.
I have posted my frustration with regard to this organization and their unwillingness to use a premium draft choice(1st/2nd/3rd) on the TE position.

The last time they used a premium pick on the position was all the way back in 2007.
It drives me crazy that they continually take lousy chances in the late rounds to try and fill the position. Tells me they don't value the POSITION like other teams do.

The thing with Kittle is that if he didn't blow up the combine most teams would have passed on him. Go back and look at his #'s at Iowa, he didn't even have 50 catches in his career.

Travis Kelce is probably the best TE in the game now and he lasted 70 picks.

It is pretty obvious that the Steeler don't value the position like they do others looking at their draft record.
Personally I think it is big flaw in their talent evaluation and roster building.

Remember when they didn't value the OL? Then something changed and they started to invest in the position. Like B2B says, this organization embraces change about as fast as oil tankers make turns.

I saw where you said you don’t necessarily agree with him.

Nonetheless you used the opportunity to jump on me while defending his “perspective”.

He had no perspective. Zippo.

Even you know that but wanted to critique me anyways.

Happy New Year to you as well.

Ole Lynch has a perspective on this that may surprise ya, but shouldn't. I could connect the dots for ya, but just aint at liberty to do so here.

If Hubbard gets snapped up by a creative coordinator who can get him the ball in multiple ways, he could be a deadly NFL weapon. If he can put 10 or 15 pounds on, he's basically Leveon Bell in terms of height/weight with Willie Parker speed. He's showed decently in short yardage and goal line. Pass pro (as with 90% of college RBs) is gonna need work at the NFL level.

We don't currently have a creative coordinator, and do have other needs, but I'm intrigued, and this staff loves speed and athleticism.
You already worded the Steelers out of the running for this player.

Sad but true, but at least ours rhymes with sphincter. Only team in the NFL that can say that.

On another note, it's definitely odd that a team that has spent such a long time just getting hammered by opponents' TEs, that they haven't bothered to pick up a few good ones of their own over the last few years. One decent season of McDonald and a couple of good games from Green is about it since Heath Miller's prime.
Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile...
