I believe an under rated issue is Ben's inability to throw anything farther than 30 yards with any accuracy or pace. teams are stacking the box daring him to throw deep, when he does (infrequently) its significantly short or inaccurate, The result hurts our ability to run (stacked boxes) and lets them sit on our over used short passing game. This is a huge mill stone on the offense.

If Ben does not have the physical ability to throw the deep ball anymore its over.

Being able to do what Mahomes did yesterday rolling left keeping a play alive and throwing a 50 plus yard dime to Hill on the run is hard to defend and leagues ahead of what is in our arsenal.

What you seek will not happen with 2.2 second release average. That 2.2 seconds seems to be OC philosophy so I don’t know if you can blame Ben. If the routes and practices are all geared towards 2.2 seconds 5 wide empties and Ben running the show will not cure the ills.

Need to start a new philosophy with max protect intermingled with the small ball. That is the only way to loosen the defenses perched like gargoyles in the box.

Fair enough but I will be watching intently how many times and how accurate his long throws will be over the next 3 games. If there is no improvement particularly in accuracy than its time to cut bait. He will be 40 next year and improvement is unlikely and it will be time to reboot the offense. If we keep the majority of that defense together with some new young talent sprinkled in no reason we cant be competitive while the offense restructures.

Don’t watch the deep balls too closely. If they are being thrown in the framework of 2.2 second releases, he has to put a higher trajectory on the throws so the WRs have enough time to get deep and under them, and that to me explains why his accuracy is down.

There's nothing to read into. Ben placed the ball where neither Brady nor Manning ever would because he was trying to protect his receiver.

Not an excuse it's a simple fact. Doesn't absolve Ben of blame, although maybe if he was a little less concerned for JuJu's health that wouldn't have been a pick-6.

I don't agree with this at all. Great QBs try to put the ball where their receivers have the best chance to catch it. A ball placed where a receiver is going to get clobbered makes less likely they hold the ball. I'm 1000% certain Manning and Brady often intentionally threw balls a little behind their receivers for the same reason Ben did. It was just awful read. He didn't see that it was going to get jumped.

I haven't seen it, either, but I know Ben the cheerleader....he thinks saying this is what leadership is, because he's never been a natural leader or one to embrace it.
