It's amazing with all these injured QB situations, no one ever even bothered slightly overpaying for Mason Rudolph, who was ahead of Dobbs in the depth chart.
Or Trubisky.
At least, hopefully, PIT got the 1 QB decision that really matters correct.

Dr. Dobbs is built just like a pencil-necked geek, he lobbed up a moon ball into orbit just like he used to do, apparently hoping it would achieve escape velocity. Instead of the wristband thing, he has a pocket protector with his plays.
You would think a guy who knows ballistic flight and should be able to calculate paths in his head pre-snap would be a really good passer of the football.
BUT APPARENTLY NOT. He just lobs it up there and it ends up way short, and some dude with better ability to judge trajectories intercepts it.
"I'm institutionalized, man," he joked. "I gotta have it. I just love the challenges week in and week out that this job provides: the growth in it, the collective growth, the individual growth."

Maybe it’s bc Dr. Dobbs only has a BA and not an MA or PhD in aeronautic engineering, is it?
“Being a fan is fine, but there is a line you can cross that makes it really unhealthy,” said Ken Yeager, PhD, a mental health expert in the department of psychiatry at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.

Ah yes, the wet shart of a prof comes in and gets all literal. You missed my tech joke there, but that's understandable. Have you taken rigorous physics classes in your academic career? You know, with calculus and stuff.
With a pedigree like this, I do expect him to be able to calculate trajectories in his head or at the very least approximate where the ball would land, in his head.
Dobbs majored in aerospace engineering during his time at the University of Tennessee.[3] The university presented him with the 2017 Torchbearer Award, the highest honor for an undergraduate student, which recognizes accomplishments in the community and academics. Dobbs was heralded as possessing a perfect 4.0 grade point average and being named to the Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll.[8]

Need Houston to win and Bears to lose. That move the Bears to the #1 pick.

It was quite the miracle finish for the Texans. Convert a 4 and 12 and the TD was on a 4th and 20
