Re: Post Browns Mock
Great win and a great defensive scheme to stack the box there in Blt. There was also not much threat of a down field passing attack that game, which enabled Pit to stack the box.
One way or another, the run defense has to continue to see improvement. Montravius Adams doesn't profile as the anchor of a truly elite defense. Not enough sand there.

That’s not how their board works. They rank them in order of who they would pick—they’re not likely to move up far but if one of those guys dropped for some reason, they’d take him. They make a board with everybody they want and cross ‘em off as they go.Jizz Mop wrote: ↑Wed Jan 11, 2023 6:51 pmIt’s nice that their board has Carter and Anderson on it but what’s the point? Under Tombert, they pretty much broadcast what they're looking for. Under Khanlin, who knows?
But as far as top picks so far they seem to be sending a little signal that they need CBs. IDL would not be a shock, either.
I think their board this very second is like:
Jalen Carter
Will Anderson
Brian Bresee
Joey Porter, Jr.
Jordan Addison
Peter Skowronski
Add Bresee to that list of Blutarsky chances of landing him/them.
I’d add Paris Johnson and Broderick Jones to that list.
Nice to have a list of great prospects but it also needs to be realistic based on where you’re picking.
Yeah Paris Johnson and Broderick Jones should be on here too. Bresee has a decent chance to make it into the teens.

As mentioned by more astute observers. DJ wasn't following the Steelers on IG nor did he have any mentions of the Steelers in his bio last summer.Jizz Mop wrote: ↑Wed Jan 11, 2023 10:06 pmAnyone see this today?

Whoever "Blitz_Burgh" is generated clicks, though, so good for them.

Hey B2B, who do you like more, Jones or Johnson?bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Wed Jan 11, 2023 10:29 pmThat’s not how their board works. From what little I've paid attention to, I like the look and how Jones moves better than Johnson, but he looks pretty raw. Our OL coach seems like he's done a good job bringing the current group together and maximizing their abilities for the most part.

But in wish upon a star world….DJ for DeAndre Hopkins…sign me up!
I don't care if he ever followed the Steelers or not.
The Steelers need to upgrade him and don't be surprised if they do it early in this upcoming draft.

I would say Johnson might fit what they like a little better. I think they're both pretty good--I also think 4 of the 5 Steelers starters are pretty easily upgradeable with a 3rd round pick, and the other isn't much better, so any OL draft action would be welcome.tbsteel wrote: ↑Wed Jan 11, 2023 11:15 pmHey B2B, who do you like more, Jones or Johnson?bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Wed Jan 11, 2023 10:29 pmThat’s not how their board works. This is a great draft for Centers and pretty good for OGs. It would not surprise me if they grab Schmitz from Minn with the 32 pick.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Thu Jan 12, 2023 2:09 pmI would say Johnson might fit what they like a little better. While I'll certainly admit Nuke is more talented than DJ, I'd want no part of this trade. Nuke has the me first/diva WR attitude that DJ doesn't really possess/show.Thrillsseeker wrote: ↑Sat Jan 14, 2023 12:30 pm#signmeupfirthistoo
Nuke's MO is to play/practice/show up as little as possible, get paid like a top 5 WR in every contract, and reset his contract every two years or so with as much G$ as possible. Look at his career/contracts/actions/comments. This is what he's done and is still currently doing.
He's almost all business (his own/me first) and limited actual ball. No thank you.

It seriously wouldn't surprise me. I get DJ has elite level traits and seems to be a hard worker. The guy has worked hard to get better.Pickett's Platoon wrote: ↑Sat Jan 14, 2023 7:08 pmI hope like hell Khan is shopping that stone handed bastard as we speak.
That said, he also seems to be dumber than a box of rocks and still struggles to make easy catches and dude has no idea how to complete a catch, making sure he gets both feet down.
George Pickens snatches the ball with ease and knows where his feet are at ALL TIMES. He's already on Santonio Holmes level at that important WR skill.
Maybe Pickens does become the #1 receiver and faces #1 corners once Diontae is gone. I seriously doubt Pickens is worried about that and getting a #2 for Johnson means you can upgrade him fairly easily. There will also be veteran receivers cut before it's all said and done.
I take a #2 for DJ in a heartbeat if it's offered, He's a paycheck thief.
