Kyrie Irving went OFF last night.

LeBron was great too.

Ibaka over and out for the year...Westbrook may be having the best wasted year ever...Pelicans are probably going to edge them for the eight spot...OKC seems cursed

Lot's of guys have put up RS numbers in non championship seasons.

Westbrook is shooting 43% from the field and .299% from 3. At 21 FG attempts per game, he should score a lot of points (and more than he has). 8.4 APG is nothing impressive for a pg who often dominates the basketball.

He has had a beastly stretch of games, no doubt. But he hasn't played like this all year.

He has never been the best player on his own team before this year, and this season it's because the reigning mvp Durant has been hurt much of the season.

Westbrook has refined his game some. And he needed to. If he continues to play this way the rest of his career I will view him differently. Never been a fan of his up until this last great stretch of games he has had. The Thunder were never going to win a title the way Westbrook used to play basketball.

My Cavs clinched a playoff spot.

Huge, as they haven't made the playoffs since LeBron left. Still have a lot of work to do.

OKC is seriously fucked with injuries. Good news for GS who will probably play the 8.

The addition of 3 role players during the season changed your team. They were not going to win the title before adding the sum total of shumpert, smith, and mosgov. Adding those 3 players made them a complete team. I expect the cavs to get to the finals out of the inferior east.

I am not happy about any of that though. I do not want to see the cavs win it this year.

I don't think we will, but I hope so.

There is a chance the Cavs and Heat play in the 1st round. That would be a scary match up if Bosh was playing. The East is no joke at the top. Atlanta, Cleveland, Chicago, Toronto, and even the Wizards are solid.

I have been telling someone I know all year that what the spurs do in the RS is meaningless except for getting enough wins to get into the tournament.

If the Spurs are healthy, I expect them to get to the finals. That's a significant "if" with the age on 3 of their core players.

Since my team is not winning the title this year, I am pulling for the spurs to win it. The spurs are everything that is right with basketball, and with sports for that matter. I have admired them all these great years they have had.

Interestingly the Spur posse has been playing so well they are now a 2 seed...Memphis seems to be getting inspiration from the Penguins on how to close a season...

He was a freak talent. Might have developed into one of the best in the league. Tarpley coming off the bench for that really good and still young mavericks team was an incredible shot in the arm every time he entered the game. One of the great wasted talents I have ever seen. 6th man of the year in only his 2nd season in the league. Very sad story and by all accounts a likeable guy. Unfortunately he dragged that franchise down who looked like they were poised to be a contender for many years after they took Magic Johnson's Lakers to 7 games in the conference finals. Some other things happened to that team too, it wasn't all because of Roy going down. But that team fully intact had a chance to be special with Roy.

The Cavs had no interest in playing defense today, coasted to a win. Boston will be a team to recon with down the road with all of their young talent. The next round should be Cavs vs Bulls, I'm not confident.

Stay healthy Cavs!

Rose vs. Irving should be a show.

Game 2 end of 1st quarter... Pelicans vs Warriors.

Pelicans are winning by 11.

I have watched all 5 quarters of this series so far and...

I have seen what I already knew before this post season began... the Warriors are not winning the title.

The warriors take bad shots too often to win a title. That might work in the rs but it does not win championships. Especially in the first quarter of this game... good grief... guys jacking shots up at the beginning of the shot clock when they are not open... low percentage shots. Bad basketball. They are too young and stupid to win a title. And they do not have enough muscle to match up with a team that is both highly skilled and highly physical. Even if they somehow make it out of the west... the cavs would beat them... too physical for them. And Lebron's basketball IQ at this point in his career is higher than Curry's basketball IQ at this point in his career.

The warriors probably have too much for the pelicans, but so far, the pelicans are giving them all they can handle in this series. Pelicans gave them a scare late in game 1 after the warriors had built a big lead. All that came after they moved Davis closer to the basket where he could have greater impact. And so far in game 2 it has carried over.

Spurs will come back vs. Clippers then face Warriors...that is the NBA title game

Don't be fooled, Warriors will still beat Pelicans but these jump shooting teams are questionable in playoffs

538.com has them as 41% to win title....about the same as Kentucky was....I think that's inflated

Young teams usually do not win titles in the nba. It takes a very high collective team basketball IQ. Plus many players improve their game over time even though they lose some quickness. Almost noone enters the nba ready to be the best player on a championship team.

So I would have given the Warriors close to a zero chance of winning the title barring injury. I watched them be physically outmatched vs the cavs. Warriors would not win more than 2 games vs cavs in a series and could get swept.

Yes, I would be surprised if the warriors do not win this series, but not shocked. And right now, the pelicans are winning by 1 point, late in the 3rd. And keep in mind, all of this so far has been on the warriors home court.

The Pelicans were very much in this game with less than 2 min to play. Down by 6, they missed an open 3 that would have cut it to 3.

After 8 quarters, it does not appear the Pelicans are going away. Of course, it's always possible the warriors could have a game where they shoot it out of their minds.

But, this series is going to new orleans now. Game 3, could very well end up a win for the Pelicans. And if that happens, the warriors could start feeling the pressure in game 4 like they did late in game 1 when they were choking free throws like crazy.

Too young + too finesse = no championship

It's not just that they are a jump shooting team, I can think of 1 team that won it as a jump shooting team... but that team was not overall a finesse team... they had some real muscle in at least 2 key starting positions... including a beast of a rim protector.

I don't think Chris Paul wants to see Steph Curry again anytime soon......

GS held serve, really not much else to it than that.....

They will win the series, and quite possibly the West....

And then get disposed of by the Cavs in 6.....

The south florida sports market is still so butt hurt by Lebron leaving. I guess Pat Riley had his end of season presser about missing the playoffs or something and the local radio guys have been ripping Lebron left and right about the way he left. It's hilarious. And beautiful. Lebron leaving was the best gift he could have given me. The bitter tears of these clowns that pass for sports fans down here provide endless joy for me. The juxtaposition of their cocky loudmouth bullshit during those 4 years to their utter bitterness today is priceless.

Spurs win in OT vs Clippers.

Wow, what a game. Intense.

Spurs got what they wanted in LA. A split.

Duncan was great even though he is a shadow of what he once was. Amazing he can impact a game like that at his age. Reminds me of how Kareem was still effective for the Lakers late in his career.

Mills was great filling in for Parker when Parker left the game in the 4th (and did not return).

Leonard had a strong game.

I get what Barkley is saying about jump shooting teams...and the pessimism about the Warriors...but

That win last night was sensational.

Curry has to easily be the best athletic three point shooter in history. Playing for coach who was the best spot up three point shooter in history.

And then the other guy in the backcourt is almost as good.

If Bogut plays like he has been and stays healthy...

The Warriors are not winning the title (barring injury)

Their biggest problem is not that they are a jump shooting team... it's that they are too finesse... and that includes on the defensive end. That high defensive RS ranking does not translate equally to the PS because they lack muscle.

That comeback was not against the big boys of the league.

They do not have a great post up game. They have noone they can dump the ball into and say "get us a basket" when the half court sledding gets tough. And that time is coming.

They do not have a great pick and roll game. They have no bread and butter pick and roll they can run when the half court sledding gets tough. And that time is coming.

They do not have a beast of a rim protector.

They shoot jump shots and slash in the open court. There is not much to their offense. I don't like their offense that much except for the great shooting.

Curry occasionally takes bad low percentage needless shots early in the shot clock. That won't get it done at a championship level.

Spurs are still the spurs until proven otherwise.

The have won the west the past 2 years, and they have opened a can on the Clippers in this game tonight.

The spurs have a 35 point lead in the 4th quarter and are about to go up 2-1 in the series.

Leonard just keeps getting better and better. Finals MVP last year. DPOY this year. I saw him make a couple slick post up moves in the last game vs the clippers. That dude has muscle and his skills keep improving.

I just want to know, when you Steelers/Cavs fans go to a game in Cleveland and they show the Steelers helmet on the screen during opposing teams free throws, do you boo with the rest of the Cleveland crowd?

I've been to several Cavs games and have never seen em do that.

That was a bitch move by Kelly Olynyk that might cause Kevin Love to miss 2-3 weeks.

He should be suspended for 10-15 games next season.

As a Bulls fan I definitely know what it's like to miss your star when you need him. Hope Love doesn't have any issues going forward with the shoulder once it heals. No Love, JR suspension looming(probably just a game unless him being a repeat offender factors in)If Rose remains somewhat healthy and Thibs stops being so stubborn with rotations, they don't have any excuses
