Pens vs Rangers Game 3 comments
Re: Pens vs Rangers Game 3 comments
Great win! The Pens looked like their old selves, props to Sulli for bringing it back.
I have to give some love to O Maata, I was shocked he was in there but he played better and a looked quicker.
I think Rust is still rusty, look out when he and Hags get on track!
Also regarding MAF and concussion....my only concern is how this is going to affect his trade value because he has to go. Murray is the future NOW. He and Zatkoff can handle 1-2.

Fleury will have a part to play in this playoff. Zatkoff, despite his whopping one playoff win, is not someone I'm looking forward to seeing in net in a November home tilt on the second night of back to backs against the Leafs, let alone a playoff game. He needs gone.
Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile...

#Pens Crosby on his goal: "I didn't even see it. It was a great pass. I didn't think (Kessel) could get it thru. Just hit my stick" -SK
I saw two teams. The first one kept the pace quick, but was matched.
The second team appeared in the third period. They just seemed faster and more motivated. More persistent fore checking, and continued to dominate time of possession. I agree with whoever said the physicality wasn't a factor. Pens didn't seem to care.
The Rangers couldn't keep up, and were stone walled towards the end.
Great game.

Arguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon. No matter how good you are, the pigeon is going to shit on the board and strut around like it won anyway.

You know more than me, Ice, but I think Murray's until/unless he falters or until/unless Pens have such a commanding lead in a series (like 3-0), that they can afford to bring Fleury back and shake off the rust. I certainly don't think we see Fleury this series unless Murray fucks up.

After last nights performance there is no need to rush Fleury back.
Why do some of you think that if it comes down to choosing between Fleury and Murray that the Pens will go with the younger tender? Murray has 13 regular season starts plus one playoff game in hand-not much to base the goal tending future on.
I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if the organization had to make a choice that it would be Fleury. Not saying I would agree but I could easily see them going in that direction.

I am, as per usual this time of year, wording posts veeeery carefully so as not to mess with juju. I don't think this series will feature Fleury, either, unless Sullivan wants to set some sort of record involving goaltenders in a playoff series; and they blew that by sending Jarry back to WBS. That's good, by the way, because now they can actually, ya know, have a goalie in net down there.

Not sure about him having a play in these playoffs - according to all of the news I have heard about him, he may be pretty screwed up from this concussion.

I think this would be the safe move but the wrong move. Murray is 6'4" 180, 21 years old, 10 years younger than Fleury. He literally has room to grow and will grow. I could see this kid putting on 20+ pounds and growing into a physical beast. He has had a pretty impressive record in the minors and I love his composure and potential.
Also - Fleury may bring significant return in trade and some salary relief. I like Fleury, I just like Murray's potential a lot more.
