My apologies, B2B. You are a scholar. But I still like "opaque" better!

I like obtuse because of its geometric connotation. People who don't quite say directly and clearly what they mean-- glancing blow instead of direct contact.

I like obtuse because of the Shawshank Redemption.

Fat fuck Peter King quoting excerpt from chuck noll book his life's work
For you fans of football history, here’s an example of the insight that drips from every page. The Steelers’ draft in 1974 was one of the best of all time by any team, and MacCambridge details the second-round debate centering on two linebackers—a statuesque one from Iowa, 230-pound Matt Blair, and a waif-thin instinctive playmaker from Kent State, 217-pound Jack Lambert. With less than a minute left to decide, Chuck turned to second-year linebackers coach Woody Widenhofer, and asked, “Woody, how do you feel about this?”
“I want Lambert.”
“Lambert it is.”
Multiply that times 900, and you'll have the insight about Noll and his life and the life of one of the great teams in modern sports history. Buy the book. I strongly recommend.

How can you put Tomlin in the same sentence with Noll? It's like Stargell vs. Moreno!!

I remember hearing that Noll was dead set on Stallworth in the second round, and he told somebody they "blew it" when the Steelers took Lambert in the 2nd.
“ But Brian was the quarterback. He lay on the ground like a sniper had shot him, so they threw me out. It’s big entertainment now, protect the quarterback, $200 to your favorite charity.”

I just saw the Noll Football Life today-- it is outrageously good.
hop, I merely made the point that the Rooneys appeared to have hired another one of the few well-rounded coaching types for their team... not so common

How can you watch it if you don't pay for the NFL network?
Arguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon. No matter how good you are, the pigeon is going to shit on the board and strut around like it won anyway.

Great comments here, brothers.
I haven't had a chance to see this yet, as I no longer have cable, but definitely going to have to track it down somehow.
Great man, legendary coach. Those of us who had a chance to actually watch him coach, and turn this team around (along with Dan and Art, Jr, and Bill Nunn) from the worst in NFL history to the GREATEST dynasty ever, before or since, were blessed to witness such magnificence.
Missed saying Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, hope it was a good one and hope the holiday season is a safe, peaceful and happy one for you all, brothers.

A must see, brother. You'll especially enjoy the commentary from Mean Joe, Andy and Brad.
Hope you and yours had a great Thanksgiving, buddy.
