Re: Steelers release Harrison
Special teams unit has underperformed all year and sorry but you could have found another player to cut. But if something happens to either olb we screwed

It’s actually fairly external. We’re in the middle of a winning streak and he’s going to the media bitching that he would’ve never re-signed with the Steelers if he could go back and do it over again.
I mean, the guy is a Steelers legend, and I hate for it to end like this, but we don’t need that shit. Dude needs some perspective.
Wouldn't surprise me if this is exactly the case.

Do you understand how message boards work?
Maybe before you wish death on someone for cutting a football player you'll consider that other people can see it.
Do you know how this message board works? Obviously not. You attacked the poster, not the post, hence the dipshit comment. I like iced coffee, thanks.
Your comment was wishing death on an owner because the team cut a guy. There isn't much of a post to attack there.

He’s barely played, been inactive a lot. Ask yourself why?
Sometimes you can take Father Time to OT, but he always wins.
You're right but that's not nearly as fun as being an old guy and overreacting by wishing death upon people because a football man was released by your favorite team.
Seeing he all time Steeler sack leader and author of one of the greatest defensive plays in the history of the Super Bowl released when we are in contention for the AFC is both alarming, and maybe a positive sign of how deep Tomlin/Colbert think our roster is.

I mean, it was kind of alarming when he was bitching about playing time and saying he wishes he hadn't signed here. Nobody wanted it to end this way, but it's a two way street. Do you want an aging malcontent on the roster when you're approaching the playoffs and a Super Bowl run?

these last 2 games could of been great games for Harrison to show his current playing skills..keep the starters fresher and maybe avoid an injury going into playoff run.. dump fucking frenchy instead..

Shit....we'll be treated to Frenchy getting some snaps on Monday, now that he's #2 on the depth chart.
Wouldn't be the first time the coaches suck at player evaluation. See Frenchie. See DHB getting key snaps last game.
Look, year Harrison was starter caliber. This year in the pre-season he looked similar. In limited early action he looked at least like a wave player -- better than Chick and Moats. Then the coaches iced him. It is easy to say he is washed up -- evidence suggests otherwise.

Sorry boys.
Dan McCuellers was the guy to cut over james.
We would have to see 2 xefensive linemen go down before big Dan gets more than a snap or three in a meaning ful game.
With the depth of the defensive line being what it is....
Cam and Tuit play 85-87% of tbe snaps.
Hargrave as the NT getting 25-35 snaps a game.
ALualu and Walton.... As quality depth with 10 or less snps pef game.
More nickel with less defensive linemen on the field.
On the other hand. Watt or Dupree go down......
Its Moatz anx Chick ztepping into a startsrz roll.
Put your hanx up if you think thats something anyone wants to see in a plahoff game over Harrison.

Exactly. James was cut because he was pissed about his role (or lack thereof). I think the team has mishandled the Harrison situation most of the season, and I get the feeling that this will come back and haunt us. I simply don't believe that Moats is superior to Harrison in any way, but I think we'd need both for LB depth. Big Dan is expendable.

Complete imagination on my part....Deebo signs with Ravens, help them beat Patriots in Foxboro in Divisional Round.

Well if Big Dan is cut, he's been inactive....so that would probably make Harrison inactive. Anyone can speculate on the reactions thereafter.

I suspect his time has come, but I'm sorry to see an all-time great Steeler leave under these circumstances.

There's no good way to do it, unless they take the team's offer to retire.

I never said he sucks. I said he was unhappy with his playing time, and I would bet money he asked to be able to pursue opportunities elsewhere. It would be worse to hold him hostage than it would be to honor his wishes.

I'm fearful he lands on a playoff team and makes a statement. I'm hoping the coaches clearly see something we do not and it was a smart move to release him. The man is a pure beast and a heart of a warrior. Thank you, Mr. Harrison, for so many amazing years and even the photo with my daughter so many years ago...made her day to meet you.

Early this morning reports are he could be back as early as Monday but I fear him voicing his playing time publicly he won’t get re-signed.
One of my favorites and I’ll hope we get him back and he gets inserted into the line up and puts up a couple more sacks!

Yeah, gotta say this is probably a roster move only. Doubt he is going anywhere and I think he was signed for emergencies, playoffs only anyway. I think the brain trust wants to see the younger players step up, I am concerned like so many here that the younger players aren't and possibly never may be ready.

I think it's pretty safe to say they see something we dont.

Yeah, like when they gave Mike Mitchell big money and drafted Jarvis Jones.
