Encouraging part is 4 - 0 while we haven't played anything close to a complete game or with any consistency. Still a lot of room to improve as Ben continues to knock off the rust.

Howard Griffith had to resort to chop-blocking him during the 1997 AFC Championship Game. An incredulous Kirkland asked Griffith, “Why do you have to use cheap tactics like chop-blocking?” Griffith replied “Why do you have to be a 300-pound linebacker?”

Today is why I don't consider the Steelers serious Super Bowl contenders, 4-0 or not.
I disagree. We play to the level of our competition.
We've either played REALLY shitty QB's or QB's with injured/no weapons.

Jeff Driskell had us on the ropes. Wentz had us on the ropes using the great Travis Fulgham.

I was impressed with the second half effort vs Watson and the Texans, but he has nobody really to fear.

Cooks and Fuller are massively overrated.

We'll know more when we actually start playing good teams and good QB's that actually have weapons.

Feels good to get a victory over a team that we have been snakebit against for a long time. Even better still that when the defense couldn't come up with any answers the offense put up 39 to make sure there were no further questions. This team will be frightening if they put it all together.

In years past, we would have come out early in the season and played bad enough to lose at least one, probably two of these games against inferior teams. We haven't done that. Progress?

One thing that is definitely clear.

Ryan Shazier was a game changing, elite football player/athlete.

Devin Bush isn't going to be that kind of player.

Not sure if it has anything to do with the difference between the two but we're waaaaaaaaay better against the run now. I'll take this defense over any one Shazier was on and it's not close.

Bush doesn't look half the player Shazier was. That said, Shazier on a C2 completely changes the cap and make-up of that defense.

So the Steelers and Bills are 4-0 and the COVIDitans are 3-0.

I saw all the game shuffles, but didn’t see the Bills/Tits came included.

What are they doing Bout that game?

Those defenses got shredded so bad on the ground it was hard for me to enjoy any of the players. The Cowboys game where they ran it down our throats on the last drive to win still makes my head hurt.

Shazier made so many huge plays in the short time he was a Steelers player, it was ridiculous. INT's, forced fumbles in huge situations, etc.

Bush just doesn't make those kind of plays. Maybe down the road he will, but I doubt Bush is going to be a game changing elite player like Shazier.

Is Bush steadier against the run? Maybe, but if this team has a big weakness, It's their MLB's. Especially in coverage.

That wouldn't be the case if Shazier was still on the field.

Ah Ok so if that game goes off, by the time this week is over there will only be two unbeaten in the AFC.

Not bad.

Now the hard stretch...home game, then three straight road games.

Scarily enough, yes.

You always knew Shazier was on the field.

Even though sometimes Shazier did something stupid, most games he was a game changing elite force.

Maybe Bush is easing in but.....dude definitely isn't a game changer yet.

In years past the D was gashed by run plays. Now it's pass plays to wide open receivers for huge yards. On third and long. And not.

They need to clean that up asap. Otherwise, it'll be brady with a lacrosse player when they play a good QB. Wentz is ok.

Pouncey got a foot, Decastro abdominal, Dionte Johnson got a bruise on his back and should be good for next week.

Get Dionte off of punts and WR runs. He is too fragile.

But I'll add this to my running list of opponent fuck ups that pulled the steelers' asses out of the fire. Got lucky twice in this game (wentz INT) but the missed 53(?) yard FG on 4th down trailing by two with over three minutes left changed the game in the steelers favor. They likely would have made it on fourth down, considering their 3rd down % was what, 72%?

Jake Elliott can boom kicks...he makes long FGs regularly...so regularly that Doug Pederson has an unhealthy confidence in his ability.

Everyone remembers two weeks ago when the false start screwed the Eagles, but Pederson’s play calling was designed to set up a ridiculously long FG.

Just because a kicker can hit a 60+ yarder doesn’t mean you should settle for one, Doug.

The Wentz pick happened because Williams forced Ertz off his route...it wasn’t an unforced error by Wentz.

Fair enough. Not unforced. I didn't see the replay to see if it wasn't 100% on wentz. I just saw the throw.

The Giants are beating the Cowboys 14-3.

In Dallas.

Does McCarthy last the season?

He already looks frustrated in interviews. Jerry is busting his balls early.
I don't think he's over getting let go by the Packers yet..lol..he can add to his woes if he keeps it up.
