we used to go for qb sneaks in and-1 all the time and get stuffed every time. I don’t believe your 90% number applies; i think the reality is “teams that are good at blocking for qb sneaks succeed at it 90% of the time; teams that can’t block for it don’t use it.” Which isn’t particularly relevant.

Kind of a variation of the ‘run-to-win’ fallacy, or the ‘victory-formation-and-take-a-knee-every-offensive-snap-because-it-guarantees-victory-statistically’.

Boz on his career in that range is 80%. Even if you think his form is better than his career average (it clearly is) it is doubtful the odds were actually better or making the kick instead of converting the first. At the very least the odds were so close that the benefit of going for it makes it a no brainer.
