It's not like we didn't have reason to worry, but I'm glad you were right.

Congrats. You like Tomlin don’t understand math.
The odds of a QB sneak in less than a yard is somewhere around 90%. The odds of getting that kick is probably at best around 95% (taking into account the Boz effect). So 5%ish difference in success but in the one case you win and the other you are up 8. There was a clear right call. Like Tomlin, you got it wrong.
Holy shit! What a win!
Burrow threw one of the most horrific Ints you'll ever see in OT. Packers puss out and play for the FG, despite AR being your QB. Crosby, of course, blows the FG. Still tied.

I understand that this is the Steelers.
I give Boz almost an automatic shot to get the FG. I give the Steelers far less chance to make one yard.

But you have to factor in the chances of Steelers running a sneak are 0%.zeke5123 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 8:08 pmCongrats. You like Tomlin don’t understand math.

The kickers are acting like they have the other team winning in their parley.

we used to go for qb sneaks in and-1 all the time and get stuffed every time. I don’t believe your 90% number applies; i think the reality is “teams that are good at blocking for qb sneaks succeed at it 90% of the time; teams that can’t block for it don’t use it.” Which isn’t particularly relevant.zeke5123 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 8:08 pmCongrats. Kind of a variation of the ‘run-to-win’ fallacy, or the ‘victory-formation-and-take-a-knee-every-offensive-snap-because-it-guarantees-victory-statistically’.

Maybe Aaron Rodgers was smart to demand Randall Cobb come back to Green Bay.

That's the other thing...a FG puts us up 8.Mick wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 8:15 pmwe used to go for qb sneaks in and-1 all the time and get stuffed every time. If it's 7 or less I'd go for it.
Denver having to get a TD and two pointer is not high odds.

Boz on his career in that range is 80%. Even if you think his form is better than his career average (it clearly is) it is doubtful the odds were actually better or making the kick instead of converting the first. At the very least the odds were so close that the benefit of going for it makes it a no brainer.jeemie wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 8:12 pmI understand math.zeke5123 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 8:08 pmCongrats. Wow that was stupid by Green Bay.
Crosby is struggling so your whole plan was draw Cincy offsides or else go for FG after the two minute warning?
I.e. give him even MORE time to think about it after a long booth review?
Either go for it or just kick it there.
Stupid.
