I don't think so. They seem to love their guys. They brought in a UDFA, he got hurt, they signed a guy who had been around, then cut him and didn't sign to practice squad.

Not exactly turning over every rock.

Can you name a team that went out and found a stud pass rusher on someone else's practice squad in mid-season?

Your right I was saying that the steelers are always on the look out to improve this team.

Can you name a team in the NFL with a worse group of edge rushers? Can you imagine that the quality of a rookie edge rusher on a team like Denver's practice squad is 50/50 to be better than Jarvis Jones, considering the talent level on their regular roster?

Connor Barwin was such a guy. James Harrison. It happens.

Jervis is THE WORST starting outside linebacker I have ever seen play for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Stephen Hawking has more explosion in his first step.

Rarely.

I'm all for scouring every corner of the globe to find some edge rushers...but I'm not holding my breath that we'll find anyone better.

What are we talking about here? I mean that spend the first half the season trying out practice squad guys in your starting 11? Anyone you bring in is a project a year or maybe more away from starting in this defense.... especially in this defense where it appears to the layperson it's not just about rushing the edge, but doing a lot of other things to a passable degree as well.

I consider Jones the backup... it's a shame he was a 1st round pick... get well soon Bud.

I don't think they are either.

I would be looking to swing a trade at this point. To make a serious push this year, we need help rushing the passer.

Trade Timmons? I don't believe for a second any one of our guys will get traded, I wouldn't close the door on it. It's more likely (although prob will not happen either) a draft pick in next years draft goes in a trade before any of our guys do.

Even if only a wave guy. Anyway, D Ware is injured, they'll probably sign Dora themselves, and we'll see if he might have helped.

At this point he is a -WAR player, so might as well audition replacement level guys and hope you get lucky.

He really is the defensive version of Lame Ass Sweed.

The obvious comparison that fits is Alonzo Jackson. Jarvis has some of the same issues Jackson had.

Even if the guy you bring in takes a year or two-- other than the possibility of Bud, we don't have any other obvious guys for next year or the year after! Get a head start on auditioning guys as stunt rushers. Do it now. Cut Jarvis because guys who could have that impact are all over the place. Travis Feeney might offer more, fer chrissakes.

I vote for Stephen Hawking to replace Jarvis in Steelerfury lexicon

And for keeping a tight hold of the game they sure let them play. DHB's drop then hit in the head could easily been called. LB pushing Brown down in the endzone in front of 2 refs. Leading with the helmet hit on Ben.

Again, AB getting pushed down was not a penalty. When QB is out of the pocket, and before ball is in the air, there is no restriction on contact from defenders.

Always good to remember.

IIRC, KC's been comparing Jervis to Stephen Hawking for some time now.

You know who would approve of the sacking of Cincinnatti?

Cincinnatus.

That and hearing the lamentations of their women.
