And when they don't want anything to get out and are intentionally vague?

Do you have a code of conduct for that situation too?

The Head Coach presser is a funny thing. Personally, wouldn't bother me at all if they never happened. That said, I've long maintained that the best show on TV is a Bill Belichick presser following a loss. After the Pats opening day loss, Mrs. Swiss & I were watching the presser, accurately predicting his saying, "Gotta play better; gotta coach better." Replay 50 times. Mrs. Swiss says, "He gets paid for this?" My response? Belichick doesn't believe this should be part of his job, thus does so resentfully. He believes his job begins and ends at winning football games.

I'm with Belichick on that notion. The local 4th Estate here in New England by and large hate Belichick 'cuz he gives them nothing. I have heard him though, on weekly shows where he's comfortable with the hosts, usually former players, talk at length about the nuances of the game. Sometimes though, on local talk radio, the discussion turns to Belichick pressers and the efforts of scribes to have him answer questions. One of the more interesting takes was their need to ask questions the right way. For instance, one guy said that he started a question with, "How would you rank....." and instantly knew that he had blown it, that he'd never get a good response. Instead, Belichick simply said, "I don't rank," and the questioner was never getting him back.

Oh...&Tomlin on NFLN, hopefully in a few minutes, but sometime this morning.

Was just on. Tomlin was in his element. Found out that Dave Williams on Brighton Rd., North Side, cuts his hair....and does Lavar Arrington's as well.
