That was Coates' fault.
He didn't run hard there.

For someone who supposedly knows the offense so well Laundry Jones sucks so so bad.

Sit Jones already please. I realize it's not about winning the game so much as analyzing the individual players. I've seen enough of Jones for the evening. Play Vaughan with the ones OLine and see how different the results are.

No idea what the fuck he was doing there.

That was to the pylon... To bad the DB beat Coates there.

Coates was covered and made absolutely no effort to fight thru to get to the ball.
That's more troubling to me than Laundry.

It was a terrible read and throw KC. Par for the course with Laundry. He needs to be shown the door.

I'm not really defending Laundry. Nobody has given him more shit than I have since he's been drafted.
That being said, Coates gave up on his route. He HAS TO get to that pylon and the kid made almost no effort.

It was a piss poor throw. Coates could've done a bit better but Jones need to go through his progressions he had a bunch of time.

Coates hasn't been impressive sure but Laundry has been doing this for how long now?

If your receiver doesn't get to that pylon, your QB is fucked.
Coates made almost zero attempt to get to that pylon.
He stopped running.
I don't have much problem cutting Laundry tomorrow, but I'm not putting that play on him when his receiver gave up on the play.

I chalk it up to Inexperience. Coates is still a rookie IMO.

That would be awesome if everyone in the stadium threw a hat down onto the field. Stoppage of play while the refs pick up all the hats.

Thoughts so far:
1. I can't stress enough how bad an NFL QB Landry Jones has. Is this the state of available bodies to play the QB position? My complaints? he's looking to dump it off or check down on every play before the pattern even develops... in the preseason. He ignored DHB wide open on a corner route into the EZ and dumped it underneath. When he doesn't dump it, he locks on receivers and forces inaccurate throws. His next throw between the numbers and beyond 8 or 9 yards downfield will probably be his first. Just plain maddening to watch. Step up and make a throw to one of those marvelous WRs and quit milqutoasting floaters of uncertain aim into traffic. That first INT was just a horrendous throw for any QB-- like, even in my Saturday morning flag game. IF he were the number three, in the position of Dustin Vaughn... MAYBE I'd cut him some slack. He's an NFL vet now. This is bullshit.
2. LT showed up tonight. Tough matchup for him... he gets Sproles and then Celek in coverage and played each pretty well. Bradford is like Landry Jones 2.0, so it's not as if the corners and safeties are really challenged-- and just as I say that, Bradford steps up, drives a dig route throw and Algholor makes an outstanding catch.
3. Grimble's first series: got his ass handed to him on a blown up run play and had a bad drop. Not a good start. IDK if David Johnson can offer much with the ball in his hands, but he's been good blocking tonight.
4. McCullers was really good early. Re-establishing the LOS. Kudos, son. Now sustain that for every snap.
5. The OLB situation is a real problem if Jarvis and Bud don't hit the ground running.

I love Coates potential, but if he does that to Ben, he'll hear about it.
On the field.
For 15 minutes.
Unacceptable.

Williams nice play. Matthews looks like a FA steal.
It is official Eli Rogers is going to become a nasty surprise for Steeler' opponents.
It is weird how Laundry, no matter how much fucking time he has, ALWAYS TAKES THE GODDAMN CHECKDOWN.

:53 seconds left in the half and:
A. Jesse James is in the game
B. he's asked to run a 3 yard out
C. you throw it to him.

I wonder if Tomlin would have the balls to make Vaughan the #2 QB.
