We will see Monday night. If they go in there and beat the Pats, I will be more of a believer.
I think Baltimore's defense is underrated. Best in the NFL.

If we get to the playoffs, we're likely going to have to face Baltimore two more times.
We're likely getting in as the #3, with an outside outside chance at #6 if we can't win the division (again...IF we get in).
In either case, our WCG opponent would likely be Baltimore.

If we run the table and Ravens also lose to Pats, my educated guess is that the Ravens are home for the holidays and watching us on tv.

Its hard to imagine an AFC North wildcard team.

Not really. Broncos are only one game ahead of PS and Rats. Broncos have to play Raiders, at KC, Pats and at Ten is no gimme. Dolphins have Pats and Bills on the road. AFC South will be won be default team so if PS don't win Div and finish at 10-6 they still have a good shot of getting in same with Rats.

Not for me. 8-4 Denver's QB who was only marginally better than last year's QBs is injured and out indefinitely. His replacement, who may some day be great is currently bad. Oh, and their defense is a hollow version of last year's and they play the Patriots, Chiefs, and Raiders down the stretch.

This is where I'm at, which is why I have Pittsburgh or Baltimore with a chance to get the #6 (depending on who loses the division).

My bad...was thinking Broncs were 9-3. Still, loser of Rats/Steelers guaranteed to have at least 6 losses, possibly more. IMO, still a long shot.

I'm expecting 9-7 for the Broncos.

I'm not seeing MIA going worse than 10-6, unless NE is still playing for a #1 seed that last week. And they have the head-to-head over us, but in a multi-team scenario involving KC maybe we sneak thru with the best conference record.
And then KC would have to go 10-6 or worse. They are 9-3.
We are big NE fans to give us a 1-game cushion....but it's still going to be win-or-go-home against BAL.
Another nail biting season where we are hoping for the slimmest of slim margins to still materialize for the playoffs. The standard is the standard.

A. NE will likely need to win week 17 to get homefield
B. Miami has to go to Buffalo in December-- Buffalo clocked Miami in Miami earlier this year.
C. KC is more likely to get a 1st round bye than to finish 10-6

Denver is fairly likely to finish 10 - 6... If that were to happen I believe we would get in in either heads up w Denver for the final spot based on conf. record or in a 3 way tie w Denver and Miami based on conf. record.
Obviously we want to win the division but it is looking to me like it's SBI for Denver to finish 10 - 6 if we don't hold up our end of the bargain.

I could see Miami going 9-7 or worse. Their wins have all been close games that could go either way, and Baltimore exposed them a bit last week.
For a change, I'd like to see the Steelers seize their destiny and not have to worry about it, but seven in a row is a tall order for this team. Especially since I still don't trust the offense against Baltimore.

If we end-up in a 3-way tie with MIA and DEN for the WC, then does the MIA loss still factor in head-to-head because DEN played neither PIT or MIA?
So then would PIT be the WC on the basis of best conference record, or do they end-up eliminating MIA or DEN first, then repeat steps to determine which of the two remaining gets the WC?

the head to head does not factor unless all team have played one another
I believe conference record is next, followed by common games

Just messing with playoff generator.
We could lose to Ratbirds and still make the playoffs as a wild card as long as:
-We win our other two games (and finish 10-6)
-Denver doesnt win its 3 remaining games
-Miami loses at least 2 games.
Basically that just means a) beating the Bungles as the Browns are a formality; and b) hoping Miami without Tannehill struggles. I say its very unlikely that Denver wins out considering their very tough remaining schedule (NE, @KC, OAK).

I believe we can also make it as a WC if PIT, Denver, and Miami all finish 10-6. Basically, we need Oakland, KC, or Denver to finish at 10-6 and we get some kind of a slot at 10-6, possibly even the #5.

Just win all our remaining games so B2B can have fun dishing out avatars to all who took him on.
That's the best scenario.

Ok let me know if I have this right:
- we win out, we win the division (and most likely get the 3 seed)
- any scenario at this point where we tie the Rats, we don't win the division but can potentially sneak in a Wild Card birth
Correct?

My analysis is complete
SBI is for the Steelers to win their remaining 3 games
If they do this, they win the division and end up as the 3 seed, more than likely.
My analysis, Barry Foster's Guide to the Playoffs, is available in the Fury online store for $14.95.
Use checkout code "Obviously" and receive 15% off and an IC autographed jizz mop.
Miss him.

Excellent.
I'll be sending my pay pal info along right away.

I've purchased Barry's guide and give it a 5 star review
Loved the whole thing but especially 2 sections: "Easing into games against bottom feeders" was compelling, only to be outshined by "clock schmock, my gut is my Rolex"
Being one of the first 50 orders I also got a bonus gift of "Tomlinisms, straight from the Tower of Babel" which was outstanding.

I'm actually sitting in a courtroom on jury duty...when I read that exact statement I just laughed out pretty loud. Never gets old.
