Are you talking about the Will Levis that can’t even beat out Malik Willis to be the Titans backup behind their stud starter Tannehill?K_C_ wrote: ↑Sun Oct 22, 2023 11:22 pmOh I know it.LakecrestSteeler wrote: ↑Sun Oct 22, 2023 11:19 pm
If baby Jesus came down the river in a basket made from dirty baby diapers some on this board would not be happy, even after witnessing some miracles. Baby Jesus wasn’t in the reed basket? Put a rock on the dirty diapers.
If Will Levis were dropping those dimes or somebody folks had picked to be the next Steelers QB, we'd be hearing ALL ABOUT those dimes Kenny was dropping when it mattered most.

Your interpretation is not correct. He was actually moving perpendicular to the sideline and dragged his toe. Subsequently the side of his toe dragged out and the play is over at that point. It wasn’t a toe-heel tapLakecrestSteeler wrote: ↑Sun Oct 22, 2023 11:11 pmWe have seen it called that way a million times.Kodiak. wrote: ↑Sun Oct 22, 2023 11:06 pm"Normally" interpreted, huh? Weird how no one has ever seen it called in an actual game.LakecrestSteeler wrote: ↑Sun Oct 22, 2023 11:04 pmNot according to how the rules are normally interpreted. It was not a toe tap situation!
If you jump and catch the ball with your chest to the sideline and land on your heels and your toe the touches out of bounds it is not a catch.
Conversely, if you jump and catch with your back to the sideline, and your toes touch, do not drag and your heel goes out of bounds it is the same scenario! Not a catch!

It gives them a really good chance of making 9-8, just by winning vs worse teams and splitting vs similar teams.

Robinson wasn’t past the first and Najee wasn’t anywhere near the one foot line when he stepped out of bounds. Spots today were terrible and the Steelers benefited from 2 of the worst ones.jmacinwbp wrote: ↑Sun Oct 22, 2023 11:17 pm
maybe about as pissed as I was with the Robinson spot one play earlier. But, really they should be pissed at McVeigh, imagine if Tomlin called those timeouts so early, then lost a chance to challenge a call that was a game ender.
At least Tomlin cleaned up the kneel downs, 11 men on the field for each kneel down, and OTs covered each time...baby steps![]()

They will have a better record than that. 10-7, 11-6 maybe even 12-5. Imagine when they run on all cylinders.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Mon Oct 23, 2023 1:43 amIt gives them a really good chance of making 9-8, just by winning vs worse teams and splitting vs similar teams.

I want them to be either great or bottom out. As it is they’re barely watchable. Todays 4th quarter they were great, helped by an atrocious officiating mistake. They’re absolutely no fun to watch and all I want is some hope. The Pittsburgh Steelers are currently 11-4 in their last 15 games. I know it doesn't feel like it but that is one of the better records in the league in that time frame. There are 15 teams that have at least 4 lost games this year already and we are heading to week 8.Texas Black & Gold wrote: ↑Mon Oct 23, 2023 1:47 amThey will have a better record than that. 10-7, 11-6 maybe even 12-5. I second all that. Today was a loss, essentially, because it was pivotal to NHALS.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Mon Oct 23, 2023 1:48 amI want them to be either great or bottom out. All the joking and hyperbole aside, today it became plainly clear: Any potential this team might have is sacrificed at the altar of NHALS. We're not really even trying to win playoff games.

It's not like the zebra mistakes were all one sided, like the earlier stains game, wow, did the colts get jobbed.
Not too mention, bellycheat and the goat won many games from official's mistakes. Don't think they gave any of them back. I've enjoyed watching three of their last four games. I'll take the win, and drink my 18 yr scotch while watching the post game interviews & game highlights once the wife retires for the night

Agreed. I'm still not happy Tomlin or Meyer benched Jones for him, but maybe they see more than we do, and contrary to the consensus of this forum, think they might have a team worthy of competing this year; so they don't want to "just let the rooks play through the issues".
Glad to see JPJ get starter quality (and I think quantity) snaps this week. Wallace is just killing me though. I know Peterson hasn't been all that, but I think he may be adequate as a slot, we'll see. But Wallace always seems to have bad games, even with an interception or two.

Now I'm really confused. What are the other 5 players doing if they're not allowed to play? Are they the injured players? Like Cam, Fiermuth, etc.

Some players are inactive due to a minor/lesser/short term injury. Sometimes guys are just healthy inactives.

Having a great kicker is huge! The other team missed 7 points in kicks. We won by 7.
After they missed a 53 yarder in the 1st, we took over at our 43 yard line. During that possession, the quarter changed, so Boz could show their kicker how to nail a 53 yarder on that same end of his own stadium.

Atrocious on offense for 3.5 quarters, then got lucky and help from the refs.
Put me in the bottom out camp.
Same as last year 51-49 to beat bad teams, 10-90 lose against actual good teams.
Just ensures more if the same NHALS bull shit.

The only way those numbers can generate NHALS is if there’s another class of teams (medium?) and the Steelers do well against those teams. Even if every opponent is “bad” 51-49 won’t get the team to 9-8 every year.

While that may be true we don't make the schedule. You can only play who is next. That means that the Bengals & Ravens beat a lot of bad teams as well. But...this is why I always say "look at the process, not the result"
There was context to who we beat. And low and behold, the same stuff that we struggled with last year is prevelant this year and we'll end up the same situation: .500 and barely beat the dregs of the league and get smoked by the elite teams.
That's fine and dandy if you like mediocrity. I do not

I still think the Steelers are on track for 8-9 to 10-7. Playing to chalk the rest of the way gets them to 9-8. Steal a game from somebody better on paper (they've stolen 3 of those already)... 10 wins. Lose to somebody worse, 8-9.
Going by DVOA, remaining games (Steelers are 16th, .06% worse than the average NFL team):
5 more vs top 12 (currently 2-1) BAL, SEA, JAX, CLE, IND
2 more vs middle 10 (currently 1-1) CIN, CIN
4 more vs bottom 12 (currently 1-0) TEN, NE, GB, AZ
9-8
If I had to bet right now, I'd say they lose both to CIN, steal one from IND, and finish 9-8.

We've seen glimpses, but that 4th quarter and with Diontae Johnson back....it's coming.
In other words, don't base everything on what you've already seen this team do because there is absolutely no question the offense is headed in the right direction.
Yesterday is going to do a lot for Kenny Pickett's confidence level. He played great, again, when it mattered most.
