With Ben gone, I'm ok with it this year. Last year I didn't want it to end.Steel Ubaldo wrote: ↑Sun Jan 08, 2023 9:12 pmI just wanted one more week of Steeler football.
It was the same last year in KC. The Steelers would’ve got slaughtered next week like last year but at least it would be one more week.
NHALS FOREVER

When you get a chance, look at the replay…he grabbed the collar. I knew it was going to be flagged the instant I saw it.swissvale72 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 08, 2023 9:15 pmIt was a total bullshit calll....wasnt near his collar...all jersey
Receiver even went down with the leg injury common to horse collars.
We didn’t get jobbed.
We had a chance to beat the Dolphins. 16-10 at the half.
Then the Steelers had that infamous second half.
Three and out
Five and out
Five and out
Four and out
Three and out
Drove to Miami 30 then interception
Drove to Miami 25 then interception
Ball game…and no playoffs
And this was Tua’s first game back from almost dying.

The collar of what? He had nothing but jersey in his hand. If that is enough now under the rule then that’s weird but whatever. How are you supposed to tackle dudes these days is beyond mejeemie wrote: ↑Sun Jan 08, 2023 9:17 pmWhen you get a chance, look at the replay…he grabbed the collar. I am sorry to say you are out of the loop. It definitely has been enforced that way for a while now.Orangesteel wrote: ↑Sun Jan 08, 2023 9:15 pmIf this is true then I am totally out of the loop with the rule because his hand did not go inside or really anywhere near the collar of the pads.steelcountry wrote: ↑Sun Jan 08, 2023 9:13 pmIt doesn’t have to be inside the pads. Disappointing but our guys are leaving us with a lot of positives here. 7-2 in the 2nd half of the season shows a lot of grit. It’s clear where coaches and front office need to direct attention. KP will come back better. Solid RB tandem. Good TE and WR unit. The young guys saw enough to buy into the Steeler standard and the culture that MT has built.
Red zone play still stinks. The play calling still leaves a lot of room for improvement (though. It’s been better in the last few weeks). The run defense improved.

Mitch saved them from humiliation next week and an even worse draft slot. Probably.

After that offensive explosion we just witnessed? No way. Canada has shown that he can maintain NHALS, which is the most important goal for the Steelers. Canada is probably dirt cheap too, as far as coordinators go. He stays.

The collar does not begin half way up the back... the hand has to be behind the neck area, around the pads. I don't think it was close.
Regardless... never put yourself in position for the league old man officials to determine who goes to the playoffs... they are old and they are told what to do near the end of games.
Matt Canada should be fired... missing the playoffs is not an options - set a bar... there was enough talent, you failed as a coach and playcaller. Tomlin should be on a hot seat.... missing by a winnable game is enough, you should be dripping with sweat.

No. I think everyone here wants the Steelers to win a SB every year. But most realize that things don't always work out. And there are 31 other teams wanting to do the same thing.955876 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 08, 2023 9:29 pmIt’s the new “standard” that’s replaced a playoff victory.Texas Black & Gold wrote: ↑Sun Jan 08, 2023 9:04 pmCongratulations to the Steelers for playing hard all season long.

Tomlin's seat stayed ice cold after 2018, which was a far, far worse outcome than this year. No way Tomlin is on the hot seat after this season. I bet Ownership considers this to have been a great season.

It's amazing watching the anti-pickett people stick to their guns...
as if we didn't watch what we watched... along with pretty much every other person that watches the NFL.
Here is something you might not have considered.. you... right now.. are in a very small minority.
Keep being there if you want, but people who watch and watch closely because their actual real name reputation depend on it (not some meaningless mock draft nickname), disagree 100% with your assessment, and almost all if not all of them agreed with you a few months ago,
You should ask yourselves.. what is it you area actually doing here.

Why not? The Steelers had a young team that constantly improved and gelled throughout the year. They overcame adversity and turned a 2-6 start into a winning record. KP showed that he has the skills to develop int a good starting QB. The defense played tough, especially when DPOY Watt was healthy. The offense is starting to click, capping off the year with a huge 28 point win against a hated rival- that's a great season! Sure, the Steelers missed the playoffs, but the other teams are paid to play too. Tomlin showed why he is a HOF Head Coach with his composure down the stretch. This team is on the upswing. Why disrupt KP's development by getting rid of his OC?
/sarc
Getting rid of Canada will not disrupt Kenny’s development.
Keeping Canada will do so.
Keeping Canada will do so.
