Moving on, aka "fuck that game"
So sitting at 2-1 atop the talented AFCN division with the Ravens.
All 4 division teams lost today.
But a win next week against the Ravens puts at 3-1 and first place alone in the division.
Obviously need Tuitt, Watt, Davis, Foster and Gilbert.
I would imagine a few hopefully play.
Unfortunately I'm not feeling too good about this team. Actually based on the Browns and Bears games, I'm blown away by how mediocre this team looks.
Can you imagine playing the Chiefs or Pats right now? We would get blown the fuck out.
So here's to a win next week while we try and put that shit show today behind us.
And the anthem things makes me sick.

Who cares about the anthem?
It's not like they're taking a shit on the flag. Even if they did, it's a fucking flag, not a person.

I care. My dad who fought in two wars cared.
I'm with you on "fuck that game"
Arguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon. No matter how good you are, the pigeon is going to shit on the board and strut around like it won anyway.
I didn't even watch today....lost interest. NFL is losing its luster in my opinion.

Does it offend you that the NFL makes a spectacle out of the flag that not only violates US Flag Code but also is only done because they're paid to do it by the government?
If not, why not?

Embarrassed to be a Steeler fan today and failed to support a teammate

Did they? Or did he get the Bettis "tunnel treatment"?
The more I'm thinking about this, I'm not sure this was anything but orchestrated. The former army ranger respecting the national anthem - alone with his teammates just a few feet behind him - is national news.
There are many, many ways people can read or interpret this. "Failing to support a teammate" isn't one I'd agree with. The way I see it, they supported him by NOT making him join them further back in the tunnel, or even at the front of the line.

They couldn't even properly execute their pre-game National Anthem plan, so why are we surprised they couldn't execute properly during the game either?
Such a missed chance.

But when it comes to choreographed celebrations, execution is TIGHT.
Look, players like Tomlin because he runs a pretty loose ship - that doesn't make you a "player's-coach", it makes you an enabler. That's why we continue to get the mess we got Sunday.

You've completely missed the point of the whole situation, I'm not surprised though.

You mean a teammate who agreed to stand in the tunnel with his teammates and then didn't and caused.a bunch of unnecessary bullshit?
EDIT: Just read what AV said. He owned up to his mistake like a man. I feel bad for calling him out.

I think Villy is well aware of how his absence during the anthem would be interpreted by all military personnel. He would have been ostracized. He made a choice. I can't necessarily blame him for it, but I can blame others. Like dumpster for fueling the fire, politicizing a legitimate protest to stir up divisiveness and a cluster fuck in the media as a distraction while feeding his base.fortythree wrote:steelmann58 wrote:Embarrassed to be a Steeler fan today and failed to support a teammate

I thought he was given an exemption (as he should have), but apparently Harrison and possibly some others were unaware of it.
Was that not true?

Nope. He fucked up. He just admitted it. Said he's embarrassed by the picture of him standing by himself.
