Steelers Season is Back On.

Ben, Juju, and AB.

Conner still good. Offensive Line playing well.

Fix the Defense, please. Fix the Secondary.

Outside of two drives the defense played pretty well I thought. The end of the 1st half was partially due to shit STs. I'm not saying the defense is good, but they've held their own the past two weeks against good offenses and arguably two of the best WRs in football (Jones and Green).

Burns was benched when it counted. Not good for his career trajectory.

But yes...I thought the D was good enough today. Should have put them away earlier. But HUGE win. I can't complain.

Season is indeed back on.

Fix Burns.

He's a liability.

ILB core can use some help, but not as bad as scheme and burns.

2 cents from this fan.
Arguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon. No matter how good you are, the pigeon is going to shit on the board and strut around like it won anyway.

Tuitt showed signs of life.

I would like to see more strategic blitzing.

I think they're holding the defense together with duct tape and chewing gum. If they can just keep the defense from being a liability we can go places.

What are the chances we see Bell on the outside in 3Wr sets with Connor in backfield?

This defense holding anyone to 21 has to be good enough to win. That's as good as we can expect and hope for them to play.
Howard Griffith had to resort to chop-blocking him during the 1997 AFC Championship Game. An incredulous Kirkland asked Griffith, “Why do you have to use cheap tactics like chop-blocking?” Griffith replied “Why do you have to be a 300-pound linebacker?”

McDonald played his ass off.
Conner was clutch again.
Juju is a star.
AB came up big when it counted.
Ben was solid all day.
Williams is a huge liability.

The Bengals don't know how to beat the Steelers. Great win!

It's not VW's fault that the defensive calls have him lined up in the slot on Green or out in open space on Mixon. Butler was pretty awful today but the players made plays and the O bailed them out in the end.

Those telegraphed corner blitzes that take forever to develop....make me want to vomit.

ILB problems are part scheme/part personnel big time.

Tuitt and Hargraves played well, did Heyward even play? I didn't hear his name once today.

This game certainly had some sensational highlight type plays unfold for sure. This Steelers team has to be on a win streak the rest of the season IMHO.

1 [of the many good things] McDonald with the 'bull in the china shop' comment from Fouts was hilarious.... Hell of a play by McDonald.

1 [of the usual bad things] Burns was in trail-mode the whole game it seemed. Just doesn't have that killer instinct, JMO.

McDonald hitting Burfict with his 270 pounds putting the piece of sh!t on the bench was an excellent moment in the game, as well.

McDonald is a Beast in the open field. Just hold on to the ball.

I think its hilarious that the Bungles cannot beat us in their own stadium, but let's be real with ourselves - that was a very tight game. I would not at all be surprised to split against this team down the road.

Still, that was a gut check road win. Fitchner is definitely growing on me. Cincy was shutting down our WRs, so the TEs got targeted 17 times in that game - McDonald had more targets than Antonio Brown, and even Grimble got multiple looks. 14 of 17 for 129 throwing at the TEs all told, and if on the drive where they settled for three they had gotten that play off where McDonald was one-on-one they might have added a TD to that resume. That is not all Ben taking what the defense is giving him.

You could nitpick maybe Grimble should have two or three of the opportunities that James got (he did look like Spaeth out there today), but it shows some good gameplanning/adjustment on offense by our new coordinator, and that gives me hope.

If McDonald stays healthy, the 3 TE's can be our saving grace when teams with excellent secondaries bottle up our wr's as all 3 catch the ball so well . I like AB in the slot, too..

Defense was bailed out, repeatedly, but CIN dropsies.

Otherwise, Tomlin IMO cost this team 7+ points.

Big win keeps us alive to win the AFCN. I think we win 9-10 games, which will probably be good enough for a WC, if not the division.

I noticed Antonio Brown seems to have his quickness back from the calf injury.

In the last 2 plays, AB looks like old AB in quickness and acceleration.

JAX got pummeled. Say what you will, but while PIT hasn't played well they've been in every game to the end.

.....assuming KC beats NE, we're not in bad shape. Just gotta play better ball

Trade for Patrick Peterson during the bye week? Apparently he’s on the block.

Bengals 0-5 against Steelers when leading IN THE FINAL MINUTE.

That should be fireable in itself.

But, please don't fire him.

Has to be more to this stat. Bengals have beaten them before, they had to have lead those games in final minute.

Just like Steelers fans blame the refs for the cheats success the bunguls fans blame the refs for the Steelers success. Discussion boards/twitter was full of them last night.

These Steelers do have issues, on and off the field. All of that still applies after winning a couple games and improving to 3-2-1 entering the bye week. As Tomlin bluntly stated, "We're the same team with the same warts, trying to get better." He didn't isolate any, but that might be because there are so many: The offense and defense warts in progress. The special teams are warts with extra growths in the form of two penalties committed by a long snapper. The coaching, too, can't cover its warts any more than Vince Williams should be covering A.J. Green deep downfield, or Artie Burns should be covering anything other than his face. https://www.dkpittsburghsports.com/2018 ... s-bengals/

THIS was the headscratcher. When asked why he didn’t challenge the JC play, here’s what Mikey said:

"I didn't see it. You don't get opportunities at replay in visiting stadiums."

Huh?

Someone needs to ask him straight up if he’s got a guy in the booth telling him when to challenge or not.

Because if he doesn’t...

You want a REAL head-scratcher: Apparently, zone defense is a mystery to even experienced watchers of football games.
