Rossi: Steelers Way? Deactivate Bell, Blount

Here's an email I sent him in response to his BULLSHIT!

"You and all the morality obsessed Yinzer faithful are IDIOTS! The NFL itself should stop punishing people for anything! The LAW, the STATE will punish them, It’s RETARDED to punish the team and the fans too! Play to WIN, WINNING>MORALITY! Does the NBA, MLB, NHL suspend people for games over off hours incidents, I don’t think so! They have arrests to, you just don’t hear about it because their league isn’t DUMB ENOUGH to turn the whole thing into a dog & pony show, morality play! I as a fan would by really turned off if they did deactivate them! I’d be pissssed that they’d put phony morality above JUST WIN BABY! I HATE the “STEELER WAY”! I am a fan since the ‘60s, and I’m sick of pretending to be more “moral” F that! I WANT TO BE JUST LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE and not the “flagship franchise”, pysss on that!!!!! I hope they play, WIN and then smoke up in celebration- NO BIG DEAL TO ME! They will regain my faith by dropping the morality CRAP forever. And by the way, What a huge laugh riot it is that you act so “offended” by Bell and Blount smoking some harmless dried leaves in the same issue your paper pimps a documentary about Doc Ellis’ LSD no hitter! >LMFAO!"

It's a good thing you made sure certain words and phrases were in all-caps and ended strong with >LMFAO! or he probably wouldn't have taken your email seriously.

Seriously. Nothing like calling a guy an idiot in an email that looks like it was typed by a 5th grader.

Big difference in my mind between a fan and someone with an opinion that loves to hear themselves talk.

I thought your email was stupid and a waste of time and shows how detached you are from how the most successful franchise of the SB era does business. Must be a Baltimoron thing

Nick

Lest there remain any doubt that you're way off-base on the mindset of Yinzers, take a look at the comments following Rossi's article. He garnered very little support, unless you consider "The writer is an idiot," to be a sign of agreement with the writer.

Get off the yinzer thing, Nick. Your posts, as well as those of TVFI STD would be a whole lot easier to take if they weren't consistently rendering indictments of the populace. Well, a whole lot might be a bit of an exaggeration.

Wether it's a majority opinion or not, I'm just sick of anybody, even if they are one in a million, trying to argue that the Steelers should be more moral than anybody else, or be some sort of higher standard of role model or some higher entity, rather than just focusing on JUST WIN BABY, like everybody else. Personally, I don't want them to hold themselves to any "higher standard' and handcuff themsleves from reaching the priority, which is WINNING, and just do what ANYBODY ELSE would be willing to do to get there.

I get it, because you yourself are a "one in a million" type of person, and are very hard to take

I do like to hear myself talk, that's normal isn't it? Who doesn't? I just don't want to see my team handcuff itself by trying to live up to a "higher standard", it never makes sense to me when people add extra punisment to THEMSELVES when they aren't forced to? I could never understand that thinking? Punishing B&B EXTRA, beyond the punishments that are beyond your control (State of PA & NFL), is totally ridiculous.

All I see that as is some sort of MARKETING PLOY, just to stand up in public and say "LOOK AT ME!!!!! ME! ME! ME! I am MORE MORAL than others are, I AM BETTER!" I'd rather see them play, so we can have a better chance to WIN, rather than watch the Rooneys SHOWBOAT about how moral and pious they are.

The bottom line, is they need to get rid of that arrogant bullshit about them being a higher standard of morality. They aren't, they are just like everybody else, ADMIT IT, and be OK with that. You cut a Chris Rainey, OK, because he sucks. You keep a Ben or a Deebo, because you need to USE them for your own succcess, just admit it and quit trying to act that you aren't like the others.

You know how sick you are of people trying to make that moral argument you speak of?

That's exactly how sick the rest of us are of you yammering about the same crap over and over and over and over again.

I'm going to repeat this for the millionth time to you because it obviously hasn't sunk in the first 999,999 times, and we're obviously heading down a path to where you're going back to trolling people.

It's impossible to have an intelligent conversation with you because you insist on beating that thick skull of yours against the same wall over and over again (ironically, this is the exact concept you chastise the Steelers for on a regular basis).

When you go on these blind, agenda-driven rants, people stop caring about your opinion and only care about your method of delivery, which is obviously piss-poor. You will never change a single person's mind using this method. Ever. So it's completely useless.

What's not normal is devoting the kind of energy and time to yammering on about shit most people either don't care about, or accept as a minor inconvenience in life, that you do, Nick79.

I tell my child every day "Whining doesn't fix anything."

You should take that lesson to heart.

It's fine to criticize. You're going to have an opinion. But if you won't ever change your opinion on anything, or you are just going to bitch constantly about things that aren't that important in the big scheme of things (like whatever some sports writer thinks about your team)... What are you adding to the public discourse?

I actually agree with the premise that the NFL, and by extension the Steelers, made a deal with the Devil when they decided to present football as some holy and wholesome activity at any level of play... Because it's not. It's a violent game and the best players are going to be necessarily a little wrongheaded about all kinds of shit.

But the way you make your points is just beyond tiresome. You will be pulling horses off the pile at the dog food factory, whip in hand, about any number of things Steelers forever so far as I can tell, whistling the same one note tune all the while. Hard to take it seriously.

There is no "REST OF US", you are assuming everybody agrees with you, that is not the case. There is no unified opinion here, that suppoerts you over me. I've made my point, I am done here. I'm very happy that the team is taking no action against Blount and Bell, hope it stays that way.

Yeah, ignore everything else I wrote and focus on some semantics.

Good Idea.

Hey Nicholas, no doubt you know that the term IDIOT is from the ancient Greek idios (ἴδιος), meaning PRIVATE and NOT COMMON. Would you say your opinion about "yinzers" is private and singular or common and shared by a lot of people? For once some mumbo jumbo Swiss might high five me over. 8-)

Nick likes attention, no doubt.

He is over the top.

He is right, any idea that the Steelers are somehow morally superior than the other 31 teams (or ever have been) is hogwash. We have an entire system in place to deal with player discipline within the NFL, not to mention our law enforcement and court system.

Once we've mastered winning football games we can worry about being the moral police. We're not very good at the former so I doubt we'll start doing the latter anytime soon.

and furthermore.....ANYONE IN ANY JOB getting punished BEYOND what naturally occurs with law enforcement/cops BY THEIR JOB is ridiculous and damn unamerican......what anyone does outside their job is their own business

Totally agree, even employers should do nothing, unless the incident forces the offender to miss a lot of work time. if you can cover it with the leave you get from the employer they should leave you alone. And Americans wonder why we have so many repeat offenders in the prison system? isn't it obvious? You make a mistake once, and people want to brutally beat you down forever from this day forward.

I honestly don't think it's limited to me, I'm not talking about here on this board, but I know a lot of people personally that share my opinions about the extreme faction of Yinzer Nation. Most are my best friends and relatives that Igrew up in the 'burgh, so I guess it makes sense that like minded people come together.

Then start talking about extreme yinzers rather than yinzers. If you're willing to admit it's a faction, then stop pretending like it's everyone except you and the buddies you grew up with. Or I'm going to start talking about how dumb all the Greeks are. I mean, look at their country. And after all, there are so many Americans that agree how stupid the Greeks are, they must all really be stupid. And you're Greek.

Why do they think Greeks are stupid? Because the country is bankrupt? Actually many typical Greeks in the middle class made out like bandits bankrupting that country. Finding ways to devour "free stuff" and bloat bank accounts, unlike the USA where only the top 1% and Wall Street get away with that sort of thing. So I'm not sure who's stupid and who isn't.

Now if you want to talk gyro, you have to go to Greece, what they serve in North America is BS. Even what Greeks make here, it's not near the same.
