No more Heinz Field
No more Heinz Field
Apparently Heinz does not intend to renew the sponsorship when the stadium naming rights expires in 2021.

Kind of a bummer but not a big surprise given Kraft-Heinz's financial issues. I wonder who will take over
UPMC?
They're on a lot of other stuff in Pittsburgh.

A few years ago I don't think anyone would have thought Pittsburgh Paints would slap their name on the Pens arena. Realize thats on a smaller scale, but you'll have someone come in that you never would have thought

U.S. Steel would be cool. Steel Stadium.

The corporations that get the most benefit from naming rights are ones that already have broad national advertising campaigns. I can see T Mobile being into more stadium sponsorships. They’ve got a bigger base now with their merger with Sprint and plans to bring 5G to more areas.

Ew. I hope not. A university should be focused on being a university. A hospital should be focused on being a hospital. That a UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL is rich enough to sponsor an NFL stadium is a little offensive to the crusty socialist in me.
If UPMC has enough money to sponsor the stadium, the crusty capitalist in me would prefer they use the money as an alumni rebate

Or for a benevolence fund for the families of transplant recipients. Or something more central to their mission.
Something deeply Pittsburgh.
“United Steelworkers Stadium”
I like “Iron City Stadium”
Or let a group of investors buy the rights, and name it for a key person…
“Rooney Field”
“Emperor Chaz Field”
“Our Lady of the Immaculate Reception”
Or historic Pittsburgh
“Manchester Field N’et”
“Stiller Stadium”
Not that I am under any illusions. It will be a corporate brand, that takes itself VERY seriously, has nothing in their brand that connects with football, and likes to see it’s logo REALLY, REALLY BIG on the sides of things.

Unfortunately, they'll use it to pay their CEO.

Replace them with vats of molten steel and you're good to go without missing a beat.

I genuinely don't think Fred Rogers would want to be associated with the NFL, its players, or its sponsors (read: beer).

Out of spite: The 'Antonio Brown doesn't play here anymore' field.
What most here think: The 'Steelers haven't played in a Superbowl in nearly a decade and its Tomlin's fault' field.
I'd love 'Chuck Noll field'.

They aren't going to name it anything that doesn't bring in a few million dollars, in line with other stadiums. They'd be stupid not to if they want to make money.
So get ready to see Corporate America Field.
