When was the last time we played this well in all phases...
especially against a quality opponent?
I mean, our defense was aggressive, we brought pressure, we had some solid defensive play in the secondary from players not named "Cortez"
the passing game was precise, Ben was Ben, AB was AB, and our running game set a record.
and special teams....WTF?!??!!!
seriously. When was the last time we did that well in all phases of the game against a good team?

100% agreed. I thought we were going to get stomped. I'm giddy. I love it.

Excellent win!
They need to bring this sort of game every week.
Minimize penalties and no careless turnovers.
Long way to go but a very good start.

Nice to see this, we even got turnovers! Running the ball is great when it works this well. Our top 2 RBs are studs no matter what they smoke! Glad they didn't let up either and built my magic 17+ lead without appearing to slow it own all that much.
They played with an energy & effort that's been lacking.
Cody Wallace getting after it vs. Foster lugging his lard around is but one example.

Fucking fantastic game.
Cody Wallace really stood out to me as well. As did Jarvis Jones before he was injured. Timmons had a good game as well, so did McClendon.
Fuck that felt good. Hope Ike, Shaz, and Jarvis are okay.

TB won't want to be embarrassed again. Id be shocked if it wasn't a close game.
Have to bring pressure.

Except we did turtle on the drive where we went 3 and out then luckily got a fumble recovery for a TD the next play. But besides that we were aggressive in the second half.

That's true, I was worried that at 23-13, they'd be DUMB ENOUGH to think the lead was big enough to sit on, luckily in general they didn't and added points, even if the punt fumble for TD had an element of luck, it's about time some luck like that went our way.
Irritating shit, like the NFL wants higher scores and more excitement right. So why have the nitpikky rule that overturned Wheaton's TD? He was out of bounds, but clearly reestablished 2 feet in bounds before he caught it? And why can't you advance a "muffed" punt? I was holding my breath on that discussion after that play! You can't celebrate anything anymore until they snap the ball for the next play.

This is a typical type of matchup that most people expect a blow out. then the Steelers play down to the level of competition, don't put them away, and then win 20-17 after giving us all cardiac arrest.

Is kind of an odd rule, Nick, but it's been that way forever.

The entire rose colored glasses crowd was silent. Nobody expected this. FWIW Cheech and Chung can keep on Cheeching and Chunging. The Marcus Allen comment from Collinsworth was great.

Exactly what I was thinking! Buy them a bag of the good stuff to celebrate last nights game with !
Speaking of Wheatons negated TD.
I watched part of three games yesterday. Giants Texans, AZ Niners, Denver Seattle. And the entire Steelers game
I noticed something unusual : Some penalties were not shown on instant replay, or from better angles, (sometimes from just one angle when they have who knows how many cameras covering sunday night football),or even the entire play. I noticed it in all the games I saw. Multiple times.
That Wheaton TD was too close to call from one angle and it seemed like they just called it because the Panthers lobbied for it. The linesman was five feet away looking right at the play and called a TD.
Maybe the new approach is if you can't see the play, then you can't question the call.

Arguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon. No matter how good you are, the pigeon is going to shit on the board and strut around like it won anyway.

I've said many times, an still say, I wish there was no replay review at all. But to me it's BS that they ar all obsessed with "getting it right", but they won't review penalty calls. Because lots of penalties seem totall bogus and inconsistant. And lot's of non-calls seem to have been penalties, so who's "getting it right?'' BULLSHIT
