Why the Steelers did not draft a NT

Good article from an interview with Tomlin about the Nt position.

It is pretty clear that Pittsburgh views the nose tackle position differently than it did in the days of Steed and Hampton. And for good reason. That is the way the league has been trending for some time now and it is certainly the best way to go to keep this defense amongst the league's best. It also gives the Steelers a lot of position flexibility with their big people on defense and better allows Pittsburgh's coaching staff to find mismatches in their favor as well as rotate players to keep them fresher with these less defined roles.

We couldn’t stop the run last year vs the Raven’s backups with Hargrave.

We weren’t very stout against the run then and likely won’t be now.

Best way to solve that isn’t with better defense but with better offense.

Tuitt will help immensely in that area. they'll still run two down lineman the vast majority of the time.

Tuitt is awesome....

For a small handful of games each year he gives us.

Been unreliable since day 1

Meh. I think the last game of the season was an outlier. The D looked good vs. the run all year including the previous game vs. the Ravens.
