.) Joseph Ossai 6’4 254 EDGE Texas- “You better not go to Texas, they’ll fuck you up.” Man, college football misses its heavyweights. Texas hasn’t been relevant in a decade, but they did embarrass Kirby and my ‘Dawgs in the Sugar Bowl a couple years back. Jake Fromm is still having nightmares over this Nigerian. Lotta buzz around this all out War Daddy that I think could be in play should the Steelers lose Bud Dupree.

.) Aidan Hutchinson 6’5 280 DL Michigan- It takes a lot to get me to even mention a scUM player, but ‘ol Hutch here is praiseworthy. Versatile, High motor player for certain, but more than that he’s got that natural bend and athleticism that gives offensive linemen fits (See Wirfs, Tristan). A fractured leg has prematurely ended his season, but that just ensures he’ll drop a few spots right into Coach Karl Dunbar’s lap.

.) Javonte Williams 5’11 220 RB North Carolina- The most explosive running back I’ve seen so far this season. “Bold men make bold statements” indeed they do, Massive Genius, indeed they do. Fast riser who is now getting Day 2 run. I mocked this kid a few weeks ago just to get his name out there, but now it’s official. I want him. The Steelers need him.

.) Abraham Lucas 6’7 328 OT Washington State- I miss seeing ‘ol Crimson flying proud on Gameday. Dig the Cougs. Pullman might be a little far for thrifty Steelers’ scouts to travel but this Lucas kid is worth the trip. Big, nasty, hombre that I want knocking heads on the front line.

C) Jarrett Patterson 6’5 300 OC Notre Dame- I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed Notre Dame’s victory over Clemson. Just an entertaining, hard fought battle on both sides but in the end I was glad Dabo got knocked down a peg. Bryan Bresee, the top recruit in the country was stonewalled all night by the Fightin’ Irish front five including this Patterson fella who really impressed. Ben’s boy or not, I think Pouncey’s time is up in Pittsburgh.

6) Josh Jobe 6’1 192 CB Alabama- These Covid “postponements” are killing me. Last year, I was in Tuscaloosa for an epic shootout between the eventual National Champs and Little Nicky’s Tide. A year later, almost the entire SEC slate is wiped out. Fuck you, Covid. Lousy Thug.

C) Trevon Grimes 6’4 215 WR Florida- Umm. Hunker Down? Not so much. Grimes and his Gator-mates humiliated what was supposed to be a stout Georgia defense down at the Cocktail party last week. You’re on my hot seat Kirby. Get your shit together ya barrel of monkey nuts. Oh Grimes. Ohio State recruit transferred home to Florida due to family matter. Mullen cherry picking 5 star wide receivers. First Grimes from the Buckeyes last year and Justin Shorter from the sinking ship up in Happy Valley this year. I still don't think JuJu is worth elite money, but wouldn't surprise me if Tombert pays him.

.) Tony Poljan 6’7 265 TE Virginia- Big Weapon right here. Transferred to UVA from Central Michigan. Tall, athletic, pass catcher but like most former quarterbacks he struggles with blocking (I’m looking at you Zach Gentry, ya scUM-bag).

C) James Skalski 6’1 240 LB Clemson- Heart and soul of the Clemson defense. Was all over the field in the National Title game before his targeting ejection. This old school headbanger is out for the season with an injury (was sorely missed against Notre Dame). Captain of the defense type that I dig, but is a dying breed in the NFL. Special teams maven for a coach to be named later. Oh Danny boy, the pipes…

Thanks as always for reading Please comment on the players you like and those you don’t. Crappy slate. Good weekend to watch the Masters. Go Steelers.
