Browns working that ravens angle

Post by Tundralag » Wed Dec 30, 2020 3:55 am

3 more players put on COVID list. Taking the harb playbook. Trying to fuck the Steelers. I am sure Roger will be happy to fuck us over if that list grows

Didn’t the raven players refuse to play after the first reschedule prior to our 2nd game against them?

It’s time for A2 to grow a pair and step up. He needs to tell Goodell...
Sorry Rog, but the playoffs start the following week, if Browns can’t play Sunday, it’s a forfeit. What’s that...then the Browns miss the playoffs? Awww, too bad...so sad!

Seriously Rooney...start going to bat for your team, because no one else will.

From someone named Lindsay Jones on Twitter

"We have made it to Week 17, and now we’re closely watching the Browns’ COVID situation. Three players went on the covid list yesterday and facility is closed this morning."

"The Browns learned of two more positive tests this morning: a player and a coach. Something to continue to watch."

Steelers will be playing next Wednesday and then next have two days off until 1st playoff game you watch

If they try to move the game, why don’t we just forfeit? Will make almost no difference to us. We’re third seed. And we would still be third seed.

Apparently the player is a practice squad member.

The three players that went on the COVID list Tuesday were Karl Joseph, Harrison Bryant, and Andrew Sendejo. Sendejo is the only confirmed positive test out of those 3, but he sucks so I don't think it's much of a loss.

What might end up hurting the Browns is contact tracing.

Forfeit = no game check. Players would never go for it.

Not to mention any team (Colts?) needing a Browns loss for their playoff chances.

I think the owners might want to call roger and tell him in advance to go fuck himself. Steelers are not playing any other day than Sunday. Or eat a forfeit for fucking us all season. Then Steelers can pay the players out of the local piggy bank

when the possibility of the ravens game being forfeited was being bantered about, it was reported then that if that happened it automatically created the 8th playoff spot format. many suggested it was partly what motivated ravens to want to do so, as they were the most likely team at the time to get that 8th seed. most of us balked at the 8 team format because it removes the 1st seed bye. which at the time was likely ours. now that it's the chiefs that would lose their bye...i mean, SBI to have chiefs play another playoff game, ennit?
as i understand from back during the previous forfeiture talk also, the rule states the players don't have to be paid. it doesnt say the team cant pay them. i mean i know the Steelers would never do any of this but it would be nice to gain a competitive advantage from another team's covid problems instead of getting screwed by them

We are up against the playoffs now. The NFL simply cannot give us a short week at this point. So if the Browns have to play guys they pick up off the street so be it.

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Browns game Sunday vs. the Steelers is in no jeopardy of being postponed because there’s no evidence of COVID-19 transmission inside the Browns facility, NFL Chief Medical Officer Dr. Allen Sills said Wednesday.
I red an article that said the NFL will be pushing to play the game no matter what. They do not want to push it to week 18 mainly because they do not want to give everyone but the Steelers a bye week

What exactly do people think the Rooney's will accomplish with a public complaint?

It's not like owners aren't taking to one another. And if the Steelers organization starts to whine and complain, it's a PR nightmare. Squeelers are whiney cunts, and expect the red carpet. Handed the SB against Seattle, blah blah blah. It's not like 31 other owners will be standing up for the steelers. They won't. It's corporate america. Does anybody think complaining publicly will do any good at all? It would be a dumb move, and fuck the players.

The NFL did approve a contingency plan earlier this year to expand the playoffs to 16 teams if COVID-19 prevents the chance to play a meaningful game (which would likely mean not even in a created Week 18). So it's an unlikely outcome, but one to be aware of if the coronavirus hits the NFL extra hard as the holidays approach.

There was talk on here of Harbaugh having a scheme to enhance his chances of getting into the playoffs if the Steelers game got postponed.

I'm more concerned about being infected by them during the game that is played this week and then we have players out for first playoff game

There has not been one documented case of transmission during a game yet.

WHO said there is automatically an 8th team in the playoffs under ANY circumstance????? Ive never seen 8 teams making playoffs ever anywhere.

Provide proof please.
find it amazing that you have not hear of this yet.

The NFL playoffs could be undergoing a major change for the 2020 season if the league approves a COVID-19 contingency plan that has been proposed by competition committee. As we wrote about earlier this week, the proposal would expand the playoffs from 14 teams to 16 teams, which means that eight teams in each conference would make the postseason if the plan is approved. If that happens, it would mean that basically everyone except for the Jets would have faint hopes of making the playoffs this year.
