Pens vs Bruins (1/26/21)

Post by Pabst » Tue Jan 26, 2021 10:01 pm

Don't have the lines, but Jarry will start in net and it sounds like O'Connor will be making his NHL debut.

Pastrnak practiced this morning, but isn't going to play.

Boston didn't score a single 5 on 5 goal in their first three games. Although they recorded 3 in each game vs Philly. Boston's special teams have been excellent thus far.

I don’t have a way to watch, but I see that Ratfink scored a short handed goal, which is pretty much the lamest shit ever.

The Pens had both PP's in the first yet were out shot 11-6.

When on the PP you have to be aware of where Marchand is, he is an outstanding cherry picker. We saw what he could do sadly and maybe Letang could have played him tougher.
The Bruins almost had a second shortie opportunity on the same PP but Malkin made a nice play on the lead pass to thwart that.
I saw more chemistry between 71 and 16 in that period than all season.

These soft dumps by the Pens are killing them. The Bruins are easily getting it out of their zone.

Again, no OZ possession time by the Birdies.

Letang is a shell of his former self to date.

Rask has been the biggest difference so far

I flipped in on just in time for the 5 on 3 goal.

The following Pens' PP looked excellent, but Rask had a few great saves.

Where is the criticism concerning coaching?

Sullivan has made his 'pet' moves with the lines but the Pen continue to play into the Bruins hands dumping the puck weakly into the zone.
Where is all movement talked about prior to the season with the PP?

The PP is a mess. The second line is absent because Sully won't make the hard changes.

I keep seeing the same mistakes being made time and time again.

Malkin had 2 chances to end it in OT and didn’t. He came in on a freaking 2 on 0 and didn’t shoot the freaking puck!

God, that was frustrating to watch

Glad for the point though.
