Before the pre-games I was watching 'In the room'.

Some interesting segments.
Sully has a beautiful old Stone Colonial house that is probably 200+ years old. No dormers.
He is also a Labrador man and has two beautiful black labs, both about 60 pounds and energetic.

They showed Crosby and Malkins rehab before the regular season started.
Crosby was out there doing agility drills and looked great. Lots of power and speed but his wrist was really fucked up. Has like a triple brace for it.

Malkin was another story.
His right knee looks like a road map or something out of Frankenstein.
Scars running the from the lower upper quads to the knee cap and another one from the upper shin towards the knee cap. On both sides of the knee cap are another 2 or 3 ghastly scars.
Fuck, his knee looks like it was all scar tissue.
His rehab was focused on strength training for the knee.

Jake's goal was beautiful. D was cheating toward Sid, so Guentzel took it right to the net himself

Yep. Definitely a pleasant surprise. Pens need to keep their foot on the gas - the Leafs can bring it

The best play by a Pen in the last period might have been a defensive play by ZAR.
Matheson gave up the puck in his own end and Marner skated away and threw a diagonal pass to Matthews who was inside the far FO circle with more than enough room for an assassin like himself to work with.
Zar turned his head, in time to see the elevated pass and knocked it down, controlled it and got it out of the zone.
Really nice work there.

Hell of a game, and that play by ZAR was indeed sublime.

Jekyll and Hyde

Which team is going to show up, on any given night.
Not complaining about the effort in any one game but the last two games the lapses that go from one shift to the next that result in goals or good scoring chances have been minimized.
Then again, that is hockey.

Continuity plays a big part in that. Hopefully this continues as the Pens get healthier and Crosby gets settled in.

Oh btw, can we talk about how well Jarry has played this year?

I have been.

My criticism is directed at shootouts but those are so small in comparison to what he has done for his club to date. Crosby shiuld bring balance to the shoot outs.

Oh, I know you have been. My apologies if that came across wrong. Was trying to call out Jarry's play

No need to apologize. I think we are the of the few that feel way.

Jarry, right now is the team MVP, maybe by a good bit.
