tweet on 7’s last year in Pgh. There will be several teams that will want Ben in ‘22’, it would take a PERFECT scenario for Ben to play, but those scenarios exist. IE Brady/Prescott go down with season ending injury. If the right coach calls Ben answers

On the one hand I wouldnt blame Ben, on the other I just can't see him doing it. Oh and fuck you Tomlin.

I think people are projecting their own Steeler loyalty onto Ben. He's had a chip on his shoulder his whole career, and don't dismiss the appeal of having a big year somewhere else as a big FU to Tomlin, Canada and EMR.

If the guy is having fun playing football, he'll be back next year. I can't imagine it's fun playing on this team. But there are other teams....

Saints
Colts
Titans

would be 3 nice landing spots.

If Ben wants to play next year, it’ll be as a Steeler.

Especially with no succession plan in place, it’ll be Pittsburgh or retirement.

But I guess these threads are going to be happening until he makes either option official.

I agree. But I would not be surprised if he did go to another team and I would not blame him either. If Brady can jump ship from a successful franchise and continue to be great, Ben can too.

I am sick of seeing more former Steelers playing for other teams than recognizing current Steelers. The turnover is atrocious and needs to stop.

Brady felt fucked over by New England’s front office……and he continually played for less money than he could have.

Ben’s been criticized for doing the opposite. The vast majority of fans I’ve talked to and those in the media I’ve seen or listened to believe Ben has been paid far more than he should have been the last several years and that was to the detriment of the roster. Hell just yesterday I heard Orlovsky and Stephen A Smith (who is a huge Steelers fan BTW) criticizing Ben for not taking less. They even laughed at his self-imposed 5 million dollar pay cut.

Brady felt fucked over. No way on earth Ben feels fucked over in Pittsburgh and I’ll wager he remains loyal to the Steelers.

I 100% believe he will retire in a few weeks. If he doesn’t Ben will sign a one year deal for around 15 million to remain in Pittsburgh.

I have a hard time seeing Ben decide to play elsewhere, would have to be a perfect perfect scenario with a good team, maybe if Arians didnt have his guy at QB, or maybe if his idol Elway gave him a call to join the Broncos. The interesting thing about for me about that reporting is that unlike the tv and internet pundits who say Ben is washed up, this guy is saying what many of us have benn saying for awhile that Ben isnt done and there would be more than just a few options for Ben out there should he decide he wants to play for Lombardis rather than keeping the idiots better than .500 record streak alive. So pathetic how Tomlin and EMR have wasted Bens prime years.

I just don’t think Ben cares about being a football player that much that he would pack it up and move to a new city, under new ownership and fans, just to squeeze out a few more million and rack up a couple more Ws.

The dude is a Steeler through and through. He’s amassed hundreds of millions in earnings. Hot wife and three kids. Loves to golf. Doesn’t have to work another day in his life unless he wants to. Sure shot Hall of Fame.

I think he wanted one more ride into January to see if they could do something special, and man did these coaches completely fuck that up. It’s a shame. The dude embodies what it means to be a Steeler. Much more than these TikTok wannabe assholes that dance and sell bootleg tee shirts.

Ya damn shame for sure. I may get pushback on this but if the Chin never retired, I bet Ben still has a real team behind him that is also well coached/disciplined and another ring or 2. Just my opinion, say what you want about Cowher on gameday, he knew how to put a team together with a good coaching staff.

I think Ben feels fucked over by the complete dunce in shades and wants to prove it. I would love him to play somewhere else to shove it up Cool Shades' ass. I wouldn't blame him one bit and I would be his biggest fan.

Denver
Ben wears #7 because of Elway
Lotta talent at the skill positions
Mike Munchak will keep him upright
Good defense
Peyton Manning even more physically regressed than Ben won a Super Bowl in Denver after being an icon in Indy

I still think he retires after this season and simply enjoys lake life with his family down here in the great state of Georgia

I just can’t help feeling like this was preordained. Like Ben and the wife agreed this would be the last ride.

I could be wrong but that’s the very, very strong feeling I get.

Ben and Pittsburgh are one and the same now. Like Bradshaw, Lambert, Ward, Polamalu, Greene, Blount, Swann, Stallworth and many others.

It rarely goes well when Steeler all time greats leave. For all the Rod Woodson’s you have the failures of Franco Harris and James Harrison.

I truly think Ben is good with going out a Steeler. No matter the state of the franchise.

……but if Ben DOES decide he isn’t finished, zero doubt he gives the Rooney’s first shot at re-signing him before he looks elsewhere.

Probably right
More likely it took a lot of convincing to get Mrs Ben to agree to one more year and his exasperated look last night after every sack and subsequent laying into Tomlin on national tv was very much Iike “Thanks a lot asshole. I went ten rounds with the Mrs for you to fuck it all up”
Idk something like that lol

It's a Godamn fucking shame. I swear to Christ we'd have AT LEAST two more superbowls had Rooney fired Tomlin instead of Haley.

Dude, Ben ain't comin back to play for Tomlin. And Rooney knows that the vast majority of the indoctrinated fan base will worship Tomlin no matter what, for one specific reason, as they've been programmed to do this through 'mass media' for a VERY long time now, He ain't gettin' rid of Tomlin as Tomlin drives merch sales and put LOADS of money in Rooney's pockets. Ben in GONZO.

Man, that is a tough one. I do believe Ben was disrespected by this organization in many ways, and on several occasions. I also believe he bleeds Black and Gold. I want him to do what he thinks is best. I think it might be more likely that he might want to show he can win without Tomlin if he didn't actually do that. I could see the one and only scenario might be Tampa Bay should Brady hang it up or become injured, but I don't really think Ben will go anywhere else to play. If he plays at all, which I think will depend largely on how the last 4 games go, even if he's decided otherwise, it will be with the Steelers. I actually think we may have Tomlin to thank for that as well, since he has stated that he wants a vet QB to bridge to a draft pick, and Ben is the best choice available if he's willing.

Man, it was so tough to see Franco, one of the hearts of our franchise, suit up for another team in 1984. Mean Joe stated in the 1974 America's Game (which was produced prior to 2005), "we didn't win anything before Franco, we didn't win anything after Franco". And for 26 years that was true. Tough to see a living legend walk off like that, as it was Woodson and many others in the 90s. But the era of FA is tough on fans, and if you are baseball fan, it's even tougher.

I think he either retires (most likely), or stays a Steeler (somewhat likely).
