Super Bowl [Apathetic] Game Watching Thread

Post by franco>madden » Sun Feb 13, 2022 10:03 pm

Well brothers, Here We Go ....... not the Steelers. :(

We Steeler fans have been both blessed (8 trips to the Bowl with 6 rings) and cursed (only 1 Championship under Tomlin with over a decade wasted of incredible personnel and hall-of-famer Big Ben's prime seasons). So now, to quote my least favorite Cowher-ism, it is what it is, and we're stuck with: rating the best and worst commercials, turning off or tuning in for the halftime show, and rooting for the Cleve/LA/Anaheim/St.Louis/LA Rams featuring the likeable Matt Stafford, or the no-longer-wretched Bungles, who've become surprisingly not as hateable.

At least we can thank God it's not the Patriots, Cowboys or 'Niners again.

Current conditions here in SoCal are 88° and 5% (!) humidity, which I'm not sure favors either team but would be a SB record for temperature if it stays there (and kind of amazing as at least 3 Bowls have been played in the desert of Arizona).

Anyway enjoy the game fellas while dreaming of what might have been ... we'll have the game on while getting some stuff done around the house. Now where's my car-washing mitt?

Nice James Harrison sighting in the Halle Barry pre-game thing! And of course Lynn Swann's all-time great tumbling circus catch in SB X

This game is not inclusive enough imo

Very conservative play calling on the first drive by the Rams. McVay easing in.

Don't understand that call. That's a little TOO aggressive.

Kurt Warner on the radio broadcast (hey, washing the car!) said Burrow blew the read on that 4th down pass -- said he had another wide-open receiver ...

Actually, pretty decent coverage by Hilton. Just a better throw and catch. Sometimes the other guys just make a play. Good football all around.
