I'm sorry, Kenny! Please forgive me! Please tap me a blessing with your divinely tiny hands!
But seriously, going into this year, I knew this team was far from being a real contender. My main goals were to 1) accumulate future draft resources for an expected rebuild and 2) pray that Kenny flashes enough to where we can feel better about him being "the guy" than we did on draft day.
I'm not there yet, but his play after the bye and obviously how he's finished the last weeks, has me feeling better now than I have at any point.
He looks so much more comfortable throwing on the run now. He's got to spend his offseason getting more comfortable and stepping up in the pocket. That's the next step for unlocking a new level for him, because there are a ton of throws he's not getting because he's unnecessarily bailing out of the pocket during the middle of his receivers progressions. But he's flashing well now. His OC did him no favors this year for the most part so it's hard to really judge him given the style of play they have. And on top of that, we nailed that Chicago trade with a good chance of having the #33 overall pick. I'm smiling tonight.
Small hands, but a big HEART
This hand size business should be put to bed, until he starts fumbling. I was interested so did a little googling. Vick's hands were the same size, Burrow has a whole 0.5" on him.

Conclusion: hand size, while important, isn't as important as mobility or having the brain and balls of a good QB. Oh yeah, plus leadership of men.

I don’t think the hand size issue is as irrelevant as people think. No, it doesn’t matter for fumbles, but I would comment (1) pickett, as far as i’ve seen, never pump fakes (2) once pickett starts his throwing motion, he always throws it, even if he realizes its not going to work. Sometimes he intentionally way overthrows it there, but he never tucks/resets and looks elsewhere (3) he occasionally looses his grip as its coming out. Hard to compare this vs how often it happens with other qbs; not more than 1-2% of his passes so not a huge factor unless it results in interceptions (cough miami).
At the same time, I think the fact that he plays with a glove on by default gives him an advantage in extreme cold weather games.

IMO he's shown that his brain and talent outweigh the hand issues. He's probably had to work on contingencies by now to deal with it.
